Tree Climbing Goats (Every June, goats climb 30 feet or more up the thorny and gnarly Argan trees of southwest Morocco to get a taste of the tree’s fruit, which looks like a shriveled up apple. It’s a scenario that seems like only kids could imagine but these goats were made for tree climbing. They have two-toed hooves, which spread out to give them balance and leverage. The soft soles of the goat’s hooves help them grab onto the bark and their dewclaws give them the ability to pull themselves up branches)

National Ugly Truck/Ugly Truck Contest Day (July 20) - It is an annual celebration to discover the weirdest and ugliest trucks in the nation. This quirky day is popular among truckers and collectors who have old and modified trucks that look like art pieces or like complete junk with wheels and a working engine. Every part of a truck is important to someone who loves trucks, and they would have already made wonderful memories with the truck. For most truckers, their truck, no matter how old or unkempt it appears, is their life, and they treasure it above all else.

Veep Day (on August 9 recognizes and celebrates the American constitution related to presidential succession matters. The day came to the attention of the masses during the 1970s when President Richard Nixon resigned following the Watergate scandal, and in his place, Gerald Ford was announced as the new president of the U.S. This was the first time in history that a president was sworn into the Oval Office without being elected as president or vice president. Spiro Theodore Agnew, who was the vice president during Nixon’s presidency, had resigned a year before Nixon’s resignation, becoming the second and most recent vice president to ever resign in the history of the country. American history shows 14 vice presidents who became presidents due to elections or the sudden deaths/resignations of their presidents)

WorldFest in Louisville - returned to downtown Louisville for its 21st year on Labor Day weekend. The festival, which ran from Sept. 1-4, celebrates international cultures, with more than 20 different countries represented over the four-day celebration. The free festival was held at the Belvedere from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day, except on Monday, when it ran from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. There were 40 food vendors and more than 100 booths offering international crafts and merchandise across the festival grounds. On the first day of WorldFest, there was a naturalization ceremony held at the Muhammad Ali Center, where officials say more than 60 immigrants became U.S. citizens. Also returning this year, on Sept. 2, there was the Parade of Cultures, where residents marched down 5th Street to the top of the Belvedere dressed in native attire to showcase their cultural heritage.

xiàzhì dàn (A popular custom of Hunan province, summer solstice eggs (??? xiàzhì dàn) are hard boiled first and then put into a jujube soup after the shell has been removed. According to traditional Chinese medicine, eating these eggs can help people “resist heat” (???? dikàng kùshu).

xiàzhì miàn (There is a popular saying throughout China: “???????” (dongzhì jiaozi xiàzhì miàn), which can be translated as, “winter solstice dumplings and summer solstice noodles.” ??? (xiàzhì miàn; summer solstice noodles) is a collective reference to the huge variety of noodle dishes in Chinese cuisine. Although any type of noodle dish can be eaten during the solstice, cold sesame oil noodles (????? máyóu liángbànmiàn) are especially popular, and usually accompanied by other cold dishes such as cold Chinese cabbage salad (????? liángbàn dàbáicài) and smacked cucumber (??? pai huánggua). Not only are they delicious, but since they are cold, they are believed to help you keep your appetite despite the scorching summer heat)

International Yoga Day (June 21) - Also called International Day of Yoga. Celebrated on June 21, International Yoga Day celebrates the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world stage. While it is an important source of exercise and healthy activity, millions join in and practice on a daily basis. For many, these routines are a way to connect the body, mind and soul in a way that has existed for centuries. The idea of International Yoga Day was first proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, 2014, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, where a resolution to establish June 21 as International Yoga Day was introduced by India’s Ambassador, Asoke Kumar Mukerji. The date of June 21 was chosen as it is the Summer Solstice, the day where there is the most sun out of every other day of the year. Overall, it received support from 177 nations, the highest number of co-sponsors for any UN resolution, proclaiming June 21 as the International Yoga Day. On June 21, 2015, nearly 36,000 people, including Prime Minister Modi, and many other high-profile political figures from all around the world, performed 21 asanas (yoga postures) for 35 minutes in New Delhi in what was the first International Yoga Day, and the day has been celebrated around the globe ever since.

ACT (originally an abbreviation of American College Testing) is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. It is currently administered by ACT, a nonprofit organization of the same name. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and scientific reasoning. It also offers an optional direct writing test. It is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States as well as more than 225 universities outside of the U.S. The main four ACT test sections are individually scored on a scale of 1–36, and a composite score (the rounded whole number average of the four sections) is provided. The ACT was first introduced in November of 1959 by University of Iowa professor Everett Franklin Lindquist as a competitor to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The ACT originally consisted of four tests: English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Natural Sciences. In 1989, however, the Social Studies test was changed into a Reading section (which included a social sciences subsection), and the Natural Sciences test was renamed the Science Reasoning test, with more emphasis on problem-solving skills as opposed to memorizing scientific facts. In February 2005, an optional Writing Test was added to the ACT. By the fall of 2017, computer-based ACT tests were available for school-day testing in limited school districts of the US, with greater availability expected in fall of 2018. The ACT has seen a gradual increase in the number of test takers since its inception, and in 2012 the ACT surpassed the SAT for the first time in total test takers; that year, 1,666,017 students took the ACT and 1,664,479 students took the SAT)

Biology - is the scientific study of life. It is a natural science with a broad scope but has several unifying themes that tie it together as a single, coherent field. For instance, all organisms are made up of cells that process hereditary information encoded in genes, which can be transmitted to future generations.

Charm School (also known as a finishing school, it focuses on teaching young women social graces and upper-class cultural rites as a preparation for entry into society. The name reflects that it follows on from ordinary school and is intended to complete the education, classes primarily on deportment and etiquette, with academic subjects secondary. It may consist of an intensive course, or a one-year program. In the United States it is sometimes called a charm school. Graeme Donald claims that the educational ladies' salons of the late 19th century led to the formal, finishing institutions evidenced in Switzerland around that time. At their peak, thousands of wealthy young women were sent to the dozens of finishing schools available. A primary goal was to teach students to acquire husbands. The 1960s marked the decline of the finishing school. This can be attributed to the shifting conceptions of women's role in society, as well as succession issues within the typically family-run schools and sometimes commercial pressures driven by the high value of the properties the schools occupied. The 1990s saw a revival of the finishing school, although the business model has been radically altered)
