Does anyone know if enhancements to rooms get you more prizes/gifts? I kind of think not--it's just to make the rooms look pretty and get rid of shards.

Something fun that I learned from a clever friend who called Room #2 The Evil Fireplace Room is that if you make sure that your Christmas Room is "On" (clicking on the scroll and paint brush at the bottom), you can click on the pencil beside the room name; e.g. Christmas Room 5 and call it anything you wish.

Getting rid of those shards works toward an achievement, which does give you nice rewards. I think it's called Magic Miser if I remember correctly...

Also decorating the rooms works toward a different achievement- also giving rewards.

I already got both so can't look it up on my main game, and can't log out of my main acct. today right now to look at my other games... but if you go to your achievements and scroll, you can find it and also see what all is needed to gain in other areas as well...

The only purpose of room enhancements is to display little bit of personality to friends who visit your room.....or to have bragging rights for being able to use the most shards for those upgrades. 

While we're on the subject of what works and what doesn't......don't waste an HO Scene No Cooldown Amulet in hopes of being able to enter friends' rooms multiple times. It doesn't work on Event rooms....you get one visit per day, period. (Plus, you can visit each of your Christmas rooms every day.)

No, Magic Miser is for collecting the shards. But you don't have to keep them once you collect them. You can use them for whatever and they will still count.

I've accomplished this one (all 3 stages) twice before, but when my game went back to Level 1 a few years ago, I had to start over again from zero.

There's one called Furniture Finder where the shards can be spent to get furniture for your private rooms.

Yes, I must make my rooms "prettier"! I tend to buy any enhancements with cats in them. And BTW sorry about the ranter the other day---some people are better off playing War Craft!
