I read somewhere on here that the 40 bags of food would be corrected at the next update, so hopefully that is true.

There are a lot of catching spring flying things coming up. I am waiting a few days before I tackle them at all, that way I can use an amulet to stop the cooldown, and hopefully tackle all the flying-thing challenges one after the other reasonably quickly. That's my plan anyway.

However, if you are not feeling it, and don't want to do it, then don't. Go find something else to play for a while. And I don't mean that in a nasty way, just that, when I get bored with the Castle, I go off and play something else, then come back feeling refreshed and happy to play again. We've been playing the game so long it's no surprise we get bored with it.

I am also shocked at the amount of things they are asking for these days on special events. It feels like they are trying to get us to stop playing. At least that is the way I feel(:

It took me 48 minutes of an amulet to collect all 20 Magic Beasts.

Just as a reminder....the Castle Challenges were created mostly to give senior level players an incentive to continue playing the game while they waited for new content to be released. Most players who've reached max level, waited for new content, reached max level, etc. have accumulated far more resources than have newer players.

They have also completed all their albums (if that's their desire), so carrots, holiday wands, ghost traps are more available for CC tasks because they are only using them on the current floating objects. ...........Again, lower level players are at a disadvantage as they try to accumulate the carrots, wands, traps because they're also using them up trying to collect all those that were available before they started playing the game.

I was amazed at how fast the coins increased in my game, for instance, when I was no longer using them to open new areas, HOSs, and ZZs....same for the event items.

Another reminder.....the Castle Challenges are voluntary. They provide no benefit to leveling up in the game or to game advancement in any way. While players may want to do them, it's just a personal choice. You weigh your options...look at the cost, and decide if what's required is worth the avatars being offered or the giving up of what's required to compete for them.

Yes, I am aware I am running a risk, but I won't be far behind, and can catch up if my plan doesn't work, as there are still plenty of days. I have already caught a few Magic Beasts as they showed up while I was just in and around playing the game, so don't need the who 20. I also hope that, because I am a number of days past the 'magic beast day', that magic beasts will be more plentiful.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Good luck.

I play a couple of games on my iPhone in addition to MC on my iPad.

On the 20 Magic Beasts day, I set my iPad on the desktop while I sat playing the iPhone games. As soon as I saw a floating object on the iPad wasn't what I needed, I went to the next location and waited there while continuing to play the iPhone game.

I ended up getting all 20 while progressing in the other games. blush

I'll let you know how I get on. See if I aced it with my brilliant plan, or am completely crazy and scrambling to catch up!

New MC day starts for me at 12 noon, but I'm not home from work and ready to play until somewhere between 6 and 7 in the evening, when I have about an hour for play, which works out well for using an amulet.

I'm as ready and prepared as I can be. I have the smiles all ready to collect from friends, and have noted down the best pets for gold chests, so that neither of these tasks will take too much time out of my precious 'amulet hour'. Which gives me that hour to collect 18 magic beasts (I already have 2), 7 magic butterflies  and 10 healing herbs, or as many of them as I can.

I just have to not do something stupid like think I'm onto smiles, when I'm meant to be catching magic butterflies, or catch butterflies instead of magic butterflies! The ways of doing something stupid and bungling this plan are many! scream

Indeed there are many ways to bungle in your plan. ..........The plan is a good one...well, it would have been better if we had fewer floaties that presented on the screen.

For some reason (in my game) I've noticed that when using the Ghost No Cooldown amulet, the ones I'm wanting/needing seem to come by less frequently.

On the other hand, something else I've learned.......normally, when looking for a particular floatie for the CC, I just go from location to location....wait for them to pop up, ....nope not the one...move to next one...click those I see...keep going through each location and then go to the next one on the map.

When using the Ghost No Cooldown amulet, I will also backtrack some of the locations in an area....because I've found that very frequently a place left a couple of locations previously will now display the one I want. Might also try that to see if it also is the same in your game.

My strategy when using an amulet is a bit different to yours. I sit in one place and just flip between two rooms constantly. It's quick and easy. My favourite place to do this is the Shadow Town and Old Tavern. Not sure why, but it is easy to flip between these two, and I seem to have a lot of luck finding what I need in these two locations. Now on to the plan...

First: 18 Magic Beasts. I had this task complete with 44 minutes left on the amulet.

Second: Feed Pets. Little hiccup when the first 4 pets didn't return gold, but the next four did. 41 minutes left on the amulet.

Third: 5 Magic Butterflies. Done with 37 minutes left.

Fourth: 7 Smiles. Disaster struck here when I went to collect the smiles from friends, and got a 'please wait' that wouldn't go away. Shut MC down. Reopen. Collect the 7 smiles. 33 minutes left.

Fifth: 10 Healing Herbs. Done and dusted with 24 minutes remaining on the amulet.

So my brilliant plan worked brilliantly. I had four days in the middle of a CC that I didn't play, didn't stress, just relaxed, then on the 5th day I was able to catch up in just 36 minutes, thanks to the amulet. I really didn't expect it to work so well. I knew it should be possible, but really thought I'd be down to the wire time-wise, or just miss out, so I'm really happy.

I feel badly for anyone who doesn't have the amulet. It's one of the best things the devs have given us, and I really wish they'd offer it again.
