You receive the egg from completing final requirement of Lucky One achievement or from the Fortune Wheel.

It requires 8 bags of Unique Food when fed.

And, it will yield Iron Chest 20% of the time; Silver 60%; Gold 20%

So, it mostly depends on whether you want to craft all the pets; whether you have the coins to spare; whether you want a pet that will give a high silver chest percentage for Castle Challenges.
