Hi ,

The anniversary rooms are great but I’m wondering how to build up some shards to do things in the rooms? All of my shards keep going to Trina . Thanks

Hi Astra,

I'm sure AEGram will jump in here and give you some additional tips but I'll go ahead and post what I do.

Yes, during an event we all - well, most of us - play those private rooms and click on the gold butterflies hoping to get some shards. But you can also do this when we're not in an event. Whenever I play, I always go to my private room and John's private room to catch those butterflies. They reappear every 3 minutes, so just keep going in there while you're playing. If I happen to be doing the rounds, I will do 2 HOSs and then back to the private rooms and keep repeating. Honestly, going to the private rooms is the first thing I do any time I log into the game. And it's always the last thing I do before leaving. It's just a habit. smile

As AEGram recommends, play those private rooms as much as you can during an event to accumulate the unique inventory items. Sure, you only need just so many of those to get the pets, etc. but you can disenchant them to get shards. I know it's very monotonous to keep clicking but it's well worth it. You can do this with all of the items we receive by doing the private room HOS during an event. The only event items I don't disenchant for shards are the ones we get during the Christmas Event. I hang on to those to trade with the kids to get more gifts to give to my friends in their Christmas private rooms.

Some players add the crafted item Ice Breath to their wishlist for others to gift to them. It costs a lot less to buy and send the item to a friend than it does to actually create the item. Then when you receive the Ice Breath from your friend you can disenchant it. I don't recall how much you get when you disenchant the Ice Breath, but some think this is a good way to accumulate shards. Myself, I've never tried that. I just work at getting the shards with the gold butterflies and disenchanting other items I have accumulated.

And I agree ... Trina can be very greedy and take so many of your shards.

Wonderful and helpful! Thanks very much LvlSlgr! I’m thinking also when I get a Trina request that isn’t a shards one, I may not complete it for a while to try to build up some shards. I appreciate your reply.

That also sounds like a good idea!! Especially if it's one that wants you to send an airship. wink

In addition to what LvlSlgr has already said.....Your shards won't go to Trina if you don't accept the quest from her.

Sooooo, IF you have sufficient Golden Keys to open whatever Private Rooms and slots within those rooms .....

1. When you finish a Trina quest, just don't accept that next one. She will remain in the Key Master Room waiting for you to later accept. (By doing this, she will NOT appear on the left part of your screen under Prof. Pinfeathers. So you'll have to remember to to to her room to then accept the next quest when you want to play with her again.)

2. IF you've already "accepted" a Trina quest, just don't mark it complete when you've done both parts of the quest. (In this case, she will remain under Prof Pinfeathers and constantly display a progress comment to let you know you've completed whatever is necessary for that current quest. Rather annoying.)

Just a reminder......When you get a Trina quest that wants shards, that quest will be marked as complete when your inventory reaches that amount. HOWEVER, the shards aren't actually removed from your inventory until you mark that quest as being complete. So, even if you've accepted a shard quest, the shards are still "yours" until you allow her to take them by clicking that quest completed.

LvlSlgr has also reiterated my encouragement for players to play, play, play the event rooms. To further clarify that comment.....If players will get lots of friends who are displaying an event room....and play each of those friends' event rooms every day.....you will be literally amazed at the amount of coinage you will accumulate during the event. In addition, you will receive pet food, stamps, energy units (up to the 20 per day), and airship items. But, the real bonus is in the excess event items you will also receive. (Not so much for this event because there's only the one pet egg.)

For Christmas and Spring event items, there are many that are worth 3 shards each. Rather than list them all here, you can easily check them on your Events inventory tab. The items you trade with the kiddos are given (one of the several that can be traded) for each HOS you complete, whether in an event room or a regular room. The other items, items to craft various pets, are also given --- these are the major excess inventory items because you only need (as an example) 40 Pajama Eggs to craft Bedtime Feline (2023 Spring pet). Any additional Pajama Eggs can all be converted to shards because they won't be used to craft another pet.

Hi again,

I am at level 108 . Will I get another chance to get destiny keys at this point? Sorry I missed them earlier and kept playing. I just thought it was a stalling point in the game and moved past it , ridiculous I know. Now I realize the point of them.
thank you. Sorry to bother you once more.
all the best!

Once again AEGram is the person who can answer your question best. I've done some searching here and found where she has answered this question more than once. I'll try to direct you to those posts.

I see that you found one of the threads/discussions - Destiny Keys - and posted your question there also (msg 11).

In AEGram's MC Game Guide, you can find her explanation about Destiny Keys here -

MC Game Guide [midnightcastle 109.159] (delphiforums.com)

Be sure to read messages 159-161 in that thread.

As explained, you obtain the Destiny Keys by doing the "side quests". The real question is when do these "side quests" appear in your game. They only appear when you have completed all of the content in the game and cannot move forward. You stated you're at level 108 and the current content takes us to level 125. I don't know of a way to get the "side quests" to appear if you're not near the end of the content because I've always been at or near the end of the content.

Ok. Thanks very much!

Or you could just put the Destiny Keys on your wishlist.
