Is there a trick to guarantee shards from gold butterflies?   Tips, Tricks, Guides and Advice

Started Sep-9 by Amanda Reece (AmandaReece); 727 views.

I've been playing MC for years, about from the beginning, but haven't figured out if there is a way to guarantee shard drops.

I click the golden butterflies & sometimes get shards & sometimes don't. Is there a trick to always get them?

Nope, it’s random. Sometimes I think if I click really hard on the butterflies I seem to get more but that’s just me.

While, as Tammy 27 (DoubleMsMom) has already said, the shards from butterflies is purely random....there IS one thing you might try.

(A friend told me about this working for her)....IF you receive a shard from a butterfly in a friend's room, transfer immediately back to your own room and collect the butterflies. She says her percentage of getting shards in her own room after shards in a friends' room is very high.)

I do that same thing when playing the dice game.  smile

Clicking really hard only hurts your finger....whether using a mouse or just your finger on a touch screen. ...............I tried it. It really does hurt! (And, on an iPad, I guess you could actually damage the screen over time.) ............(Groucho Marx eyebrow raising and lowering here)

Wow! I don't click that hard. And, yes, I'm well aware it doesn't make a difference, but I still do it sometimes. grinning

Yep, been there, done that...........sometimes when tapping items in iPad.

I tap it, still there, tap it, still there, and just tap, tap, tap harder....it finally captures, but it does hurt the finger as well. Dumb, but ....well, just dumb. blushjoy

I’m smiling wink here, just reading your conversation. I even get sore hands and wrists from tapping hard and faster with a stylus disappointed_relieved So I completely understand the frustration with those times when you just need to tap hard. It hurts but your heart feels better smile

I've tapped the iPad screen, typed too much, and used a mouse on PC game collecting items in HOSs that I developed a trigger finger in my right little finger. After 2 cortisone shots a year apart, the ortho doctor performed a very minimally invasive surgery to open the sheath that's compressing on the tendon in my little finger...which then caused it to catch.

Hand has recovered from surgery, but a recent update with event rooms has (once again) caused over use. The finger no longer catches, but that area of my hand remains swollen.....diagnosis is "inflammation from over-use." ...........Don't doubt that for a minute. It is what it is because I won't be changing my habits anytime soon unless there becomes a threat of the hand "shutting down" or something similar to make me change. (A bit stubborn, I guess....blushwink )
