Perhaps yet another silly question, but what can ya do?

When I’m gifting items to friends I see that some items they request are familiar items, but they are red, and even though I might own the familiar versions of the items, I would have to buy the red versions in order to gift them.   I thought they might be higher level players than I am, but I just realized that some friends’ levels are below mine.

What’s the story about these red items?  What am I missing (besides my marbles?)

Usually if a friend’s wishlist is showing a red item it means that you don’t have that item in your inventory so that’s why you would have to buy it to gift it.

This is from my non-playing iPhone MC game where my only friend is John. As you can see I don’t have the 3rd item from his wishlist in my inventory so I would have to buy to gift…..

WOW! You’re right!  That makes so much sense I should have thought of it myself (she said as she smacked her forehead and rolled her eyes).
