OMG ... I remember that song by Walter Brennan. My mom had an album of his and that was my favorite. I wonder what happened to it??? I don't have that one, but I have most of her albums by Perry Como, Al Martino, Mitch Miller (Sing Along with Mitch), Jim Reeves, Eddie Arnold and others.

I remember him from some movies - Kentucky  with Loretta Young - but mainly as Grandpa McCoy in the TV show The Real McCoys. I used to love to watch that show.

Any Day Now (My Wild Beautiful Bird) - Chuck Jackson

The song was later recorded by Ronnie Milsap (1982) and it peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, spending nine weeks in the Top 40. In addition, this version went to No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart (for one week) as well as the Hot Adult Contemporary Singles chart (for five weeks). However, I couldn't find a title for Milsap that included "(My Wild Beautiful Bird)".
