Even in quiet, supposedly responsible, New Hampshire I see people indoors without masks. I would soooo love to walk up to them and say, If I get sick, I'm suing your ass! But of course, then they would call the cops and say I threatened them... sigh

The whole mask issue was mismanaged from the start and now it has become a political statement.

Think of it as this:

Those who choose to not wear a mask in solidarity with Confederate Statues are participating in an experiment of Natural Selection.

TinyFaerie, I also live in Texas but in a rural county.  The number of people here who don't wear masks is astounding, even though our positive case numbers continue to climb.

I do have a funny story to share.  Well, it's funny to me.  I work in a restaurant/grocery store.  The other morning we had a couple of our bubbas swagger in without their masks.  Then they spotted the table full of Sheriff's Deputies eating breakfast.  They scurried back to their trucks like little mice.  I guess their bravado ends when it might cost them a $250 fine.

I like the Darwinism label!

I so can relate to that comment! I glance at myself only once in a while and see my hair standing on end! I must be a fright to see these days. I wear the same thing for days...I usually fall asleep around sunrise, and sleep all day! I live in a small senior complex, so everyone here thinks or knows that I am crazy!

But a good bit of me is fearful of turning vampirish...LOL

Im the opposite. I go to bed at 10pm and am usually getting coffee started at 5am.

Not that I work or anything just my body clock it set to those hours. I have to make sure and get the right amount of sleep or I tend to be a bit crazy.

Btw I sent you a pm here on the forum.

People fleeing when they see cops really should be wearing a mask.  But, please try not to judge.

My son is a 6 foot tall healthy looking teenager, but he has autism.  He is very slowly learning to wear a mask.  He has sensory issues and when he wears a mask all he can think about is how the mask feels on his face.  In fact, the first couple of times he put one on, he did really well at not touching it, but was so overwhelmed about thinking that he wanted to take it off that he couldn't even understand when he was told he'd worn it long enough and now could take it off!

He's at the point where he can wear it into a store for a while if all he has to do is follow me around.  But for him to try on shoes and decide if they fit, he can't have the mask on at the same time.

A medical expert (alas, I'm sorry that I didn't catch his name....he was introduced when I was distracted)........anyway this expert made a profound statement that no one seems to have picked up on:

If EVERYONE would wear a mask for 3 weeks, the virus would have no place to go.

Would that we could get the whole world to just "wear a damn mask" for the remainder of July so we could put this "experience" behind us and move on to reconstruction.

Hey, at least your leaders actually care about you and listen to science, not idiots.  Best of luck to you all in NZ!
