So my latest update..........

The week of the 23rd the results from a round of testing, we had 1 resident and 0 employees test positive. We also had another resident pass away.

This week I'm happy to report that we have no new cases!!! All resident except for one have returned to their original rooms.  They have reopened the unit where the covid residents once resided, and residents who were displaced have been able to return to their rooms.  A handful will have to wait until the last covid resident leaves before they can return to their rooms. One corner has been set aside for the one resident who is still recovering. She has had no symptoms and will be able to return to her room on Nov. 9th. I will say that the unit is in some disarray and will take awhile to return it to normal.  I'm sure some stuff will remain in place in case we have another outbreak, fingers crossed that we don't. We did have another resident pass away this week.  My thoughts and prayers to both families.

It was so wonderful to see those residents that I haven't seen in over a month, boy do they have some stories to tell.  The only difficult thing is that I couldn't give them the hugs that I so wanted to give.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and the words of encouragement as I went through this difficult time.  My MC family is the best!!!!

I want all of you to take care of yourselves as we head into the winter season. Stay safe and wear your masks!!

That sounds like great news, Tammy. I'm so happy for you and the residents that things can finally start to get back to normal.

It is all a bit like a game of whack-a-mole. It pops up, you stamp it back down, it pops up somewhere else, and stamp stamp stamp we go. We are getting very good at whack-a-mole. Contact tracing that we have in place managed to stop the third outbreak at only 6 people.
