Korean War Veterans Memorial Groundbreaking & Dedication (President George H. W. Bush conducted the groundbreaking for the Memorial on June 14, 1992, Flag Day, and thus construction was started. The companies and organizations involved in the construction are listed on the memorial as: the Faith Construction Company, the Emma Kollie Company, the Cold Spring Granite Company, the Tallix Art Foundry and the Baltimore District of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The memorial was dedicated on July 27, 1995, the 42nd anniversary of the armistice that ended the war, by President Bill Clinton and Kim Young Sam, the South Korean president, to the men and women who served during the conflict. Management of the national memorial was turned over to the National Park Service, under its National Mall and Memorial Parks group. As with all National Park Service historic areas, the memorial was administratively listed on the National Register of Historic Places on the day of its dedication)

The Late Show with David Letterman debuted on August 30,1993. It is an American late-night talk show hosted by David Letterman on CBS, the first iteration of the Late Show franchise. In most U.S. markets the show aired from 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. Eastern and Pacific Time, and recorded Monday to Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The second Thursday episode usually aired on Friday of that week.
Comment: I never could get into Letterman's comedy. I really prefer Stephen Colbert who took over as host after Letterman retired in 2015.
Minnesota Twins win the World Series (The 1991 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball's held in 1991 season. The 88th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff played between the American League champion Minnesota Twins and the National League champion Atlanta Braves. The Twins defeated the Braves four games to three to win the championship. In 2003, ESPN selected this championship as the "Greatest of All Time" in their "World Series 100th Anniversary" countdown, with five of its games decided by a single run, four decided in the final at-bat and three going into extra innings. The series was also unique because of the standings of the two participating teams in the previous season: both finished the 1990 season in last place; before 1991, no league champion had ever finished the previous season in last place)

Of course you get on the Wheaties box...........
During game 6, Kirby Puckett hit a home run to send the series to the 7th game. Here's how Wikipedia puts it......
The game remained tied at three until the 11th. Cox sent Game 1 starter Charlie Leibrandt to the mound to face Puckett, who recalled telling Davis that he planned to bunt for a base hit, to which Davis responded, "Bunt my ass. Hit it out and let's go home!" Puckett replied that he would take a few pitches first—a rare move for him, as he was known as a free swinger who often went after the first pitch. After uncharacteristically taking a strike and two balls from Leibrandt, Puckett launched the next pitch into the left-center-field seats for a dramatic game-winning home run that tied the Series at three games apiece. Buck famously called the home run with the line "And we'll see you tomorrow night!"
This moment is captured in a statue of Puckett just outside Gate 34 at the Twins' new home, Target Field. The statue is of Puckett rounding second base, pumping his fists after hitting the dramatic walk-off home run.
Here is that statue....................

Sprinkle Spangles (was a short-lived breakfast cereal by General Mills. It was introduced in the mid 90s, alongside Hidden Treasures. The cereal was of star-shaped pieces covered with multi-colored sprinkles. The commercials claimed that they "Spangled every angle with sprinkles." Sprinkle Spangles were no longer available in 1998. The Sprinkle Spangles mascot was the Sprinkle Genie (voiced by Dom DeLuise). He would often appear in front of children who wished they had sprinkles for breakfast. The Sprinkle Genie's own catchphrase was: "You wish it, I dish it!" The mascot was dropped before the cereal was retired)
