Nathan Adrian - is an American competitive swimmer and five-time Olympic gold medalist who formerly held the American record in the long course 50-meter freestyle event. In his Olympic debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics, Adrian swam in the heats of the 4×100-meter freestyle relay and earned a gold medal when the United States team won in the final. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Adrian won gold medals in both the 100-meter freestyle and the 4×100-meter medley relay, and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. He has won thirty-two medals in major international competitions; twenty gold, seven silver, and five bronze in such competitions as the Summer Olympics, the FINA World Aquatics Championships, and the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. In the 2016 Summer Olympics 4x100-meter freestyle relay a gold was won with Michael Phelps, Caeleb Dressel, and Ryan Held. He was an individual bronze medalist in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyles. In January 2019, Adrian was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He had two surgeries, returning to competition in May 2019. Adrian entered to swim two individual events at the 2020 US Olympic Trials (postponed to June 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the 100-meter freestyle and 50-meter freestyle. However, he failed to qualify and did not go to Tokyo.

Obstacle Course Swimming (The men's 200 metre obstacle event was an obstacle swimming event in the 1900 Summer Olympics held in Paris. It was held on 11 August and 12 August 1900. Twelve swimmers from five nations competed. This was the only appearance of obstacle swimming at the Olympics. There were three obstacles throughout the 200 metre course. Swimmers had to climb over the first two (a pole and a row of boats), and swim under the third (another row of boats))

Hard to see but this is the swimmers climbing over a boat................

The event was won by Frederick Lane of Australia, with Otto Wahle of Austria second and Peter Kemp of Great Britain third. Lane had already won the 200 metre freestyle (with no obstacles).

Australia will host the Olympics for the third time and Paralympics for the second time after Brisbane and South East Queensland tonight (July 21,2021) secured the 2032 Games. Prime Minister Scott Morrison said securing the Games was a coup for the nation. “It’s a historic day not just for Brisbane and Queensland, but for the entire country,” the Prime Minister said)

Roger Ducret - was a French fencer who competed at the 1920, 1924 and 1928 Olympics. At the 1924 Summer Olympics he entered five events out of six and earned a gold or silver medal in each of them, winning individual medals in all three competitive fencing disciplines: épée, foil and sabre. Team GB is sending its largest ever contingent to an overseas Olympics Games with 376 athletes heading to Tokyo 2020.

There are no fewer than 51 Olympic medallists in that group, with a further 22 reserve athletes heading to Japan. More than half will be competing at their first Games, with just 122 returning athletes.

It’s also the first time a British team features more women than men, with 201 female athletes across the 27 sports.

Uneven Bars (is an artistic gymnastics apparatus. It is made of a steel frame. The bars are made of fiberglass with wood coating, or less commonly wood. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is UB or AB, and the apparatus and event are often referred to simply as "bars". The bars are placed at different heights and widths, allowing the gymnast to transition from bar to bar. A gymnast usually adds white chalk to the hands so that they can grip the bar better)
