"I am certainly not an advocate for frequent and untried changes in laws and constitutions. I think moderate imperfections had better be borne with; because, when once known, we accommodate ourselves to them, and find practical means of correcting their ill effects. But I know also, that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy, as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." - Jefferson to H. Tompkinson (AKA Samuel Kercheval), July 12, 1816

OMG, nobody in their right mind believes anything huffpost prints.  Okay, maybe this time..only.

Let's put this one in the 'screw you if you can't take a joke' column.

I really didn't buy the video as real but then it did star a supporter of a nutcase who is afraid of a garbage disposal.  Now ruin my day, tell me the AOC/garbage disposal thing is fake also.

I just want to remind posters that I called out the real author of the satire last week, when I saw the first reports and noticed that the people who promoted it didn't give credit to Jonathan Swift.  The stunt was plagiarism in its purest form.

Harry Truman

Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."
[Special Message to the Congress on the Internal Security of the United States, August 8, 1950]

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it - Samuel Clemens

“The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye. The more light you shine on it, the more it will contract.”

Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. - Aldous Huxley

Yeah you can't refute Huff because the Larouche creeps admitted it. That and it is being reported every place.

How about a true story - the Trumpsterfire thinks windmills cause cancer and that you can blow up hurricanes.

No one tops your guy so you might as well give up until he is gone. LOL
