I read approximately a book a day .. depending on the number of pages. I can usually read 400-500 pages a day. Depends on how much housework I need to do  ... cooking, etc.

Your family leaves you alone all day? Were you.like this when your kids were growing up?

LOL!  My son is an adult and works long hours.  My grand-daughter is 19 and goes to college part time and works part time.  I was always working when my kids were young .. I was a single mom.  Those days, I wasn't readng near as much as I do now.  I had housework to do, laundry, cooking, taking the kids here and there for whatever they were involved in...  seems like I was never alone  :-)

Must be nice to have time to yourself?
I used to read a lot but a dumb dr gave me too many eye drugs and my vision is not easily fixed.

I can't think of much that would be worse than losing my eyesight.  Mine is bad enough ...and prescription glasses don't work well for me.  So the kindle is a godsend for me  :-)

We have family time in the morning before they go off to work and /or school.  The rest of the day is mine  :-)  Then we have more family time in the evening .. and then it's bedtime for me :-)  I stay busy during the day .. and not only with reading.  I love cooking and I'm always looking for new recipes to try out.  I do a lot of research on books, authors, publishers, etc.  Of course, I have the 3 cats to keep me company at all times  :-)

I have decent eyesight. Do not need reading gkasses. Just that vision is different in each one. No one should be on steroid and antibiotic eyedrops as long as I was. I had strep eye infection which looked like Garfield the Cat's eyes covered with ketchup. I guess I am lucky to see at all.

I can't imagine how frustrating that must be for you!  I have a closet shelf full of audio books that I've never listened to.  I wanted to be prepared in case I lost my eyesight altogether. :-)

I have a bunch of those, also. I got mine free when the local libraries did away with them and VHS. My car has a little used cassete player and a cd jack and I used to like to listen on my way to the beach.

What a bargain!   They are so convenient for those with eye problems .... or for those who travel.
