I loved the book .. .loved the movie.  It's one of my books that I re-read every year or so.

We don't get too many birds around here .. some black birds with really sharp looking bills  and of course, quail  :-)

Nope, nope, nope  :-)  The thought of a thunder or lightning storm while on a plane gives me the heebie-geebies  :-)

I love the thunder, love the lightning, love the rain ... but only if I'm on the ground

I hope the backyard Mockingbird did not see the title of your book :)

Because of the fires in California, the swallows came here instead of San Juan Capistrano.  They ate all my olives.  They filled the trees and yard in swarms.  I did NOT like it.  I know they had to eat, but still.  Those olives are for the other birds in January.  Rambling, sorry.

Well, we were far enough away from the storm for it to have no effect on our flight at all.  It was something I'll never forget.  But I don't have your fear of flying.  I don't think I'll fly again, tho.  The world is scary.  I did fly to NY in December after 9-11 just to show the terrorists I could.  I was much younger then.

I lived in Lubbock, TX.  Tornado alley.  Great thunderstorms, the best I've ever seen.  Only once did we get in the bathtub for tornado safety.

That makes me think of the time I was reading Mockingbird with my 10-year-old niece.  I wanted her to start out with this knowledge.  Anyway, when she went home once, her mom asked about how our book How To Kill A Mockingbird was going.
