It's possible, and quite excusable, if you don't know that DC used to be larger, but the parts of it that had been expropriated from Virginia were given back in 1846; the actual Federal property in DC should stay with the Feds and the city itself returned to Maryland...everybody has a vote, everybody is somebody, everybody is a star...

It's a pretty obvious con when a state is split up into North and South in order to get more representatives in the senate. Manhattan could be it's own state and Northern New York another. North and South California?

The point is, 700,000 US citizens can't vote unless something is done about DC. Even lumping them in with Virginia would at least be something.
