I've heard all types of notice.
I heard plenty of thunder this evening.
And falling rain. But everyone else did too. We were exchanging times as to when the storm front reached each place as it progressed across the Permian Basin.
I agree. He is probably genius level in a lot of subjects.
If you had grown up in a city you would have been given a college scholarship as soon as you were big enough to carry a stack of books around campus
Or would have been in Juvie for being too curious about how the world works, because the edumacation system seems geared towards producing "worker bees for the new world order" rather than those who might challenge the socio-political power structure and those who benefit so well from it.
Then of course if I'd been unlucky enough to be born in the inner city - well, smart kids were mercilessly targeted for being different, and any threat to the pecking order is to be stamped out promptly.
You did get yourself into a lot of trouble out in the country.
Fortunately it never escalated beyond getting my britches warmed a few times.
These days we live in an era that is unable to forget or forgive. Kids are expected to be miniature adults these days, so an indiscretion when one is 6 years old can follow you well into adulthood.
It can with social media. At the same time, parents are bullying schools or friends parents to cover things up. I may have mentioned a group of high school kids who vandalized a school sports arena and destroyed a custodian vehicle as a senior prank. It was felony vandalism. The parents said they would split the costs if the school didn’t contact police. There were enough students involved that the cost was $1,000 each, so they coughed it up. The students were able to graduate and go to college. I thought they deserved some jail time.
