The lack of democracy in the middle east isn't the problem - most of the time it's never followed and freedom of speech, human rights is absolutely lacking.... haven't we seen enough?

From where I stand; I think the most problematic conditions is when people are too busy to realise what happens around them among certain situations, unless there's an uproar with civil disobediences and a lot of victims fall into a dramatic events and become targets as it happened in Tunis when the Arab Spring started and it propagated all over the north African continent right into Syria.

You can disagree on political issues but there's no need to kill each other for it, but that is not a rule of laws in some countries!
There cannot be peace and harmony among communities unless we stand up with an unbowed mentality!

I've wholeheartedly heard the entire list of his lectures, it's a mind enlightenment how well he listed all the facts and it's not boring!

Just what everyone should listen to, I am listening to this now and wondering how many of the Americans would bother to watch it, and stand to the freedom of choice...
I was physically attacked by a family acquaintance when I said that I didn't vote for Trudeau, and I'm not alone others have been verbally and physically attacked too!

Now that is sad when people favour their 'party" over family for but don't even know these politicians, but actually not that uncommon, it happened to a close friend I well know - as well!

Scruton was also awarded his PhD in January 1973 for a thesis entitled "Art and imagination, a study in the philosophy of mind", supervised by Michael Tanner and Elizabeth Anscombe.
The thesis was the basis of his first book, Art and Imagination (1974), which was followed by The Aesthetics of Architecture (1979). From 1971 he taught philosophy at Birkbeck College, London, a college that specializes in adult education and holds its classes in the evening...
