Yer typical anti-gun screed. I read the whole article and they didn't even mention thoughts and prayers!

Black men aged 15 to 34 were more than 20 times more likely to be killed with a gun than white men of the same age.
Gun deaths surged during the pandemic's first year, the C.D.C. reports.
Soaring rates were driven largely by gun-related homicides, which rose 35 percent from 2019 to 2020.

More often then not, these black men aged 15 to 34 are criminals, that are shooting at each other and killing each other. They are doing most all of the car jacking, muggings, looting, home invasions, and killing innocent people.
That being said, it doesn't mean they don't need thoughts and prayers, but that is highly unlikely from the NY Times. Most all of them are not Christians.

interesting actually ... The headlines have been all about violence and racial discrepancies, while more people continue to die each year by suicide via guns!
At least so far, this was 2020.
19,350 gun homicides in 2020
Gun suicides 24,245 in 2020.

Adding at least 8 make that 10* more to the count. Would 8 make that 10* Hail Marys on the rosary be appropriate?
It's a black neighborhood if that makes a difference.
*While I was composing my witty comments, the number of casualties changed from 8 to 10. I don't know, 10 Hail Marys seems excessive ?

- 14 students and a teacher were shot and killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday morning.
- The shooter has been identified as 18-year-old Salvador Romas, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said. Romas is dead.
- Authorities believe the suspect acted alone.
- The suspect's grandmother was shot and killed prior to the school shooting. Authorities believe the shootings are linked.
- Two police officers were also shot. They are expected to survive.
