Well that would have given them a solid reason to deny confirmation instead of floundering about and coming up with no excuse for the lack of action.
I can understand why the Republicans don't want to confirm another Justice, but the refusal to even talk to the man and perhaps go through the motions before denying, is another manifestation of their lack of respect and total rejection of the President, from immediately after the first election and here the NO! just a couple of hours after the death of Scalia.

Scalia died, and he managed to die during the term of a Democratic president. Obama nominated a well respected judge. I understand that the requirement that they approve an appointment gives them veto power, but not even holding hearings sounds as if they don't want to do their job. If this was 1965, he would have been in office already.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - Two fences on either side of John Carroll University's campus representing a "mock border wall" are causing controversy on campus and online.
