One of these days I'll figure out rugby rules, but I appreciate scrums and pileup either way.

1. All the players are muscular and aerobically fit. 2. Coaches don't send in the plays or substitutes between 'trys', etc. That said, it is brutish. 

Soccer is a better spectator sport, in my opinion. 

USAn football is akin to baseball in that there are voids in the game for spectators to visit or whatever. Soccer and rugby don't have that built in.

One thing I don't understand is why opposing team never grabs the ball when they ground someone and everyone mills around waiting for the ball to be passed to the same team.

'Never' seems an overstatement. Later, I will check the rules, etc. I recall 'loose balls' being swiped.
