I am in New Hampshire and they say anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rain which we really need

That sounds like a good thing.  You won’t get the destructive parts of the storm?

I'm over 500 miles from the nearest salt water, and at least 1,500 miles from the closest point on the East Coast, which is probably somewhere within a few miles of Jacksonville, FL.

So we aren't even seeing any traces of rain bands or other meteorological effects.

Even when Hurricane Gilbert came ashore near Houston, we only saw a radiating row of very high linear clouds that seemed to point towards Houston, some 500 miles away, like spokes on a wheel.
