Whether or not you agree with the author’s politics, he brings up excellent points. I saw the interview and at first was horrified but what she endured. But I noticed her eyes teared up a little, but her delivery was so unemotional, so articulate and so studied, I started to have suspicions. At this moment, have doubts and I also support her feelings. A bit of both. The racism type comment is so bizarre it’s hard to parse it. Anyone who understands genetic would not make a comment like that even if they were racist. It also could have been said not out of racist beliefs but out of ignorance.
What do you think?
The Oprah interview was an emotionally manipulative performance designed to consolidate Harry and Meghan's power.

The U.S. news stories all favor Markle, while the British people are mainly siding with the monarchy. The stories about her entitled behavior are relatively easy to prove, as people who were in contact with her before they left England have spoken out. Still, as a non Brit, I also felt some of what she said was very compelling.
MORE than half of Brits believe that Meghan Markle is "obsessed" with being famous and that she is using Prince Harry. Ahead of their Oprah interview The Sun can reveal that a poll has shown ...

Meghan Markle's former Suits co-star criticised the Sussexes yesterday for staging an interview while the world is in the 'throes of death'.

The Queen’s words extended an olive branch, indicated that the comments about race may not have been intended as taken, and that people remember things differently. She’s also taking a personal interest in resolving this.
Royal experts say The Queen's official statement responding to Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah was 'edged with sadness,' but have pointed to a 'telling' phrase in the comment.

Personally I don't think Meghan ever intended to live her life as a working member of the Royal family. She has, however, gotten what she wanted, marriage to a Prince, a Title, and the social status that goes with it, the mansions, etc. I do feel sorry for Prince Harry as he has given up a lot for her, although according to her, she gave up everything for his family. Really she gave up nothing. It appears that every time she "wins", Harry loses.

I think so too. It seems that way. He was extremely non informative in the interview and didn’t get much air time, but he looked terrible, worn out and sad. She looked like she always does when speaking in public or acting. Composed, calm and confident. I think overall he wanted a way out from the system he thinks killed Diana, and she gave him one, but he lost his family and country. That is a lot to lose.

Royal family or not, denounced by (or departed from) royal family or not, or just an ordinary couple...
My thinking stands the same... private family matters should not be aired in public... even more so for executives, public figures, royals or ex-royals!

I agree. If for nothing else, the grandchildren should have the opportunity to remain part of the extended family as they grow older. Family feuds rarely end well. Public feuds can’t.

I did say she's an actress and can make anything sound believable; but I do have a few comments since the choices didn't cover it.
I believe that there are people in the royal orbit who are racist. That's a no-brainer. However, someone was giving her a hard time, why didn't they go to the Queen? The buck stops with her.
I was sort of mad that she said "someone in the royal family" is a racist but didn't name him or her. What's the point of protecting them? I felt manipulated by that.
I was annoyed by Harry talking about her only has the money his mom left him (I'm sure compared to us regular folks, it would be plenty for us to life on nicely.) He doesn't want to be a working royal--and that's fine, but he shouldn't be butthurt about being cut off financially.
I felt like they want to perks of being royal, but want to not go with the rules/protocol that come with it and are offended that they can't have it both ways. That makes me unsupportive of their cause. You don't get something for nothing.
