I think so too. It seems that way.  He was extremely non informative in the interview and didn’t get much air time, but he looked terrible, worn out and sad. She looked like she always does when speaking in public or acting. Composed, calm and confident.  I think overall he wanted a way out from the system he thinks killed Diana, and she gave him one, but he lost his family and country. That is a lot to lose.

Royal family or not, denounced by (or departed from) royal family or not, or just an ordinary couple...

My thinking stands the same... private family matters should not be aired in public... even more so for executives, public figures, royals or ex-royals!

FWIW

I agree. If for nothing else, the grandchildren should have the opportunity to remain part of the extended family as they grow older. Family feuds rarely end well. Public feuds can’t.

I did say she's an actress and can make anything sound believable; but I do have a few comments since the choices didn't cover it.

I believe that there are people in the royal orbit who are racist. That's a no-brainer. However, someone was giving her a hard time, why didn't they go to the Queen? The buck stops with her.

I was sort of mad that she said "someone in the royal family" is a racist but didn't name him or her. What's the point of protecting them? I felt manipulated by that.

I was annoyed by Harry talking about her only has the money his mom left him (I'm sure compared to us regular folks, it would be plenty for us to life on nicely.)  He doesn't want to be a working royal--and that's fine, but he shouldn't be butthurt about being cut off financially.

I felt like they want to perks of being royal, but want to not go with the rules/protocol that come with it and are offended that they can't have it both ways. That makes me unsupportive of their cause. You don't get something for nothing.

There probably are some who don’t care for her and skin color is a way to cause her pain, I get that. But by not saying everyone is assuming it’s Philip who is old and may not understand the hurt caused by comments about skin color. Then again, he is ill now and a convenient scapegoat. It is unfair to him if he did not say it.  Harry is obviously covering for a family member, if it indeed happened, and there are only so many. The should have gone to the Queen, so either they didn’t  trust her to handle it or maybe it did not happen as shockingly as they said it did. She would find out the truth, and will.

Harry has around $18 million from the inheritance Diana left plus investments on that money and Meghan earned around $9 million from Suits.  No one knows how much is left but probably a lot.  Did he just assume he could basically quit his job and still get paid? Apparently so.

The spent $10 million on their house, which seems extravagant given they aren’t working for pay.

Was Piers Morgan right or wrong when he said he doesn’t believe a word she says? It would mean she had to lie about the racial comments and the altercation with Kate.  Apparently people side with him because he has been offered other jobs.

He knows Meghan personally, possibly better than the people who are angry with him. Could he be right?

I joked to my mother that it's probably Andrew because of the people he associated with. But I'm sure many are assuming it's Phillip, which if not true is unfair to him. A lot of people are assuming it's the whole family.

Every time I see them I get the feeling what they say is not the whole truth, Some of it may have a kernel of truth, but I'm highly skeptical of a lot of what they say. If you want to do an interview to set the record straight, why pussyfoot around what you want to say? Are they waiting to do part 2 and make more alligations stay relevant?

I get their beef with the tabloids, but that's about it.

I don’t understand every nuance of the monarchy but it seems much of their reticence comes from the desire of their people to have respect for them and their charity work. That can’t happen if all their private interactions and squabbles are aired in public.  Every family has disagreements.  In the U.S., we are used to that but in their realm, it doesn’t happen as much.  I wish we had a little more respect for privacy.

As we discussed over PM, I think she came across highly naive when she claimed she had no idea how bad it would be with the British Press and the public duties of the Royals, that's absurd and Piers Morgan was right to question her on the validity of that, but it's not really for us to say how she felt in terms of her mental health, one almost wishes Diana were still alive to hear her comments on how her mental health was affected at the time.
