Intellectual laziness? Not as interesting and engaging as the echo chambers of Facebook and Twitter? A belief that books are for old people who don't know how to use modern technology and still think it's 1955?

Everyone should read books or ebooks.  Knowledge is lost.

If the children can't say mother, father, sister, brother, girl, boy, so on and so on, eventually, over the years, they and the next generation[s] won't know those words even exist.  Much less what they mean.  If they can erase those words and meanings from the minds, documents and books, they know they can control the language.  Once they get away with that, because very few stand up against it, they WILL start removing other words.  Freedom of speech will no longer be tolerated.  I'm sure freedom will be replaced with hate.

There is a lot of pushback.  Someone was actually escorted from  school board meeting by police for speaking up. Parents have had enough.

Yep. They should. You can read a real book even if the electric grid is down.
