Oh wait - the gasoline to get there took another 3 dollars. No real savings there at all.

They didn’t realize how badly that would play out in the media.

The successors to Rush Limbaugh had a lot of fun with making fun of those savings on Friday. Or maybe it was Tuesday when I ate at a place that had it playing.

That's what really scares me.

What do they really realize?

Oh! It was a popular meme for a few days.  I saw it on the news.

I wonder the same thing.

While I didn't see it on the news, I saw a T shirt about it. It showed 16 cents and a gas station price sign like the "all of your money are belong to us" that was popular during the $5 and $6 gallon gas in 2008, and a tiny little weed eater

And something about "my 16 cent savings bought almost enough gasoline to run  a weedeater for 200 milliseconds"

It’s sad they thought it would make people happy. The underlying message is “Be glad prices aren’t even higher.”
