Confirmed: Department of Defense Paid Far-Left Newsguard $749,387 to Continue to Censor The Gateway Pundit and Conservative Media

By Jim Hoft
Mar. 9, 2023 6:12 pm

Newsguard claims to be a non-partisan fact-checking organization.

But a quick glance at its operations and related social media accounts shows an unhinged group of committed Trump-haters.

Newsguard is a media “fact-checking” company that was started in 2018.  They claim to rate websites for reliability.  Basically, they’re in the business of deciding who is fake news and who is not.  And they HATE pro-Trump publishers and citizen journalists.  The company is supported by Trump-haters, elites and media giants.

There is ample proof the activists behind Newsguard are unhinged leftists and anti-Trumpers.

Our friends at the conservative website 100percentfedup previously shared information with The Gateway Pundit that exposes the Newsguard liberal activists.

As we reported earlier — ALL of the top activists at the Newsguard organization are virulent Trump-haters.

And their mission is to DESTROY pro-Trump and conservative websites.

Breitbart.com reported on this organization and their goal to demonetize opposing voices online.

Financial Blacklisting: NewsGuard Advises Advertisers to Avoid Pro-Trump Media

NewsGuard, the news-filtering browser extension recently partnered with Microsoft and run by neoconservatives, Obama-Clinton alumni, and other assorted Trump haters, has advised advertisers to withdraw their business from websites on its blacklist of “unreliable” news websites — a list that includes Breitbart News, The Drudge Report, and the Daily Mail…

…The effect isn’t merely to silence pro-Trump media. It also ensures advertisers don’t market their products to Trump voters, causing them to rely less and less on consumers in the heartland, and more on progressive consumers who read establishment news sources.

In 2019 there was a report by La Corte News that revealed conservative sites are twice as likely to be rated unreliable as liberal publishers.

Today we found out the United States Department of Defense was using taxpayer dollars to censor conservatives and independent media online.

The DOD awarded $749,387 to Newsguard in September 2021.

From Matt Taibbi: “Some NGOs, like the GEC-funded Global Disinformation Index or the DOD-funded Newsguard, not only seek content moderation but apply subjective “risk” or “reliability” scores to media outlets, which can result in reduction in revenue. Do we want government in this role?”

Newsguard has consistently attacked The Gateway Pundit on COVID, the Hunter Biden laptop, and vaccines that have all been proven to be accurate.

Newsquard has NEVER criticized the mainstream media for lying about Trump-Russia collusion, the Hunter Biden laptop, COVID and vaccines.

So why is the federal government funding this radical censorship outfit?

Why NewsGuard Is Just As Bad As The Pro-Censorship Global Disinformation Index

BY: MARGOT CLEVELAND
MARCH 14, 2023

At its core, NewsGuard is no different than the Global Disinformation Index — except it turns a profit for its efforts.

Since the “Twitter Files” and congressional hearings outed NewsGuard as a player in the Censorship Complex, the media-ratings giant has been insisting it is nothing like the Global Disinformation Index, the discredited organization recently exposed for blacklisting conservative news outlets. But the two are far more alike than different.

An hour before independent journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger testified before the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government last Thursday, Taibbi released the latest installment of the “Twitter Files.” “Some NGOs, like the GEC-funded Global Disinformation Index or the DOD-funded NewsGuard, not only see content moderation but apply subjective ‘risk’ or ‘reliability’ scores to media outlets, which can result in a reduction in revenue,” he wrote, underscoring the point in his congressional testimony.

Shellenberger expanded on Taibbi’s comments, testifying: “Both the Global Disinformation Index and NewsGuard are U.S. government-funded entities who are working to drive advertisers’ revenue away from disfavored publications and towards the ones they favor. This is totally inappropriate.”

By Friday morning, NewsGuard had emailed Taibbi to dispute the “government-funded” label. But as I detailed Monday, NewsGuard received a $750,000 grant from the Department of Defense — which it now disputes as a “licensing fee” — to develop a “Misinformation Fingerprint” program that uses AI and “social listening tools” to target so-called “disinformation.” This is in addition to its blacklisting of certain media outlets through assigning “risk” or “reliability” scores.

While NewsGuard’s co-CEOs told The Federalist they are “sensitive to the distinction” between their organization and the Global Disinformation Index and said the federal grant “had nothing to do with the government wanting us to rate websites,” the scandalous effects of both organizations are the same.

Same Results

The federal government’s funding of the Global Disinformation Index is itself a serious scandal. The organization also lacks transparency and applies its left-wing political bias to dole out unprofessional reviews and ratings targeting conservative media. But NewsGuard is wrong to believe it can separate itself from the Global Disinformation Index simply by calling its news source ratings “transparent” and “apolitical” and claiming to operate “in a totally different manner.”

While NewsGuard’s co-CEOs, Gordon Crovitz and Steven Brill, have been receptive to questions, some of their answers give pause. For instance, when asked how many articles NewsGuard selects for review and how it selects them, Brill said, “it depends on the site and its volume of content and the topics and substance of the content,” admitting “not everyone agrees with how we do this.” He then fell back on touting the company’s supposed transparency, pointing to his debate with the founder of the Daily Kos over NewsGuard’s methodology, publicly available on its webpage.

NewsGuard lacks transparency where it really matters though. The organization’s “it depends” attitude, paired with how it selects and reviews materials, leaves way too much room for mischief. Subjectivity is the admitted standard for evaluating “the site” and content volume, topics, and substance. Furthermore, my request for the list of articles reviewed for The Washington Post and The Federalist for 2020, 2021, and 2022 went answered, making it impossible to independently assess the process.

Even though NewsGuard repeatedly claims to be apolitical — a claim that’s contradicted by its history of rating news outlets — so what? The results remain the same: NewsGuard’s ratings cause important and true speech to be silenced, while false reporting is amplified thanks to the organization greenlighting it.

For example, The New York Times and The Washington Post both received 100 percent ratings from NewsGuard, yet both botched reporting on the Russia-collusion hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop story, and many details surrounding Covid — and those are merely the “big” stories and easy examples.

In contrast, The Federalist, which received one of NewsGuard’

Pentagon, Pfizer, BioNTech colluded with CCP-controlled pharma firm to develop COVID vaccine bioweapon

Monday, March 06, 2023
by: Natalie Parker

(Natural News) The Department of Defense (DoD) colluded with a pharmaceutical firm controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to create a bioweapon in the form of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.

The company in question was Fosun Pharmaceuticals, which signed an agreement with Pfizer-BioNTech for the co-development and distribution of the vaccines.

Researcher and former drug company executive Sasha Latypova revealed this collusion in a Dec. 28 post on her Substack. “Fosun is a huge Chinese conglomerate that owns a large number of global companies, and its chairman Guo Guangchang is a very high ranking member of the CCP,” she wrote. “It is curious that the DOD awarded $10 billion to a venture whose substantial equity and IP holder is the CCP.”

Guo, who has a net worth of more than $4 billion, is also a member of at least three CCP-associated groups. Moreover, Latypova stated the company owns a sizable number of international corporations.

According to the former drug executive turned whistleblower, the agreement essentially created a tripartite research and development alliance between Pfizer-BioNTech (as one entity), Fosun and the CCP. (Related: DoD conspired with communist China to unleash covid “vaccine” bioweapons on citizens.)

Latypova later emailed LifeSiteNews to elaborate on her revelations.

“In China, every large employer – especially in something strategic like [the] biopharma sector – is controlled by the CCP,” she stated. The whistleblower drew parallels to the Soviet Union, “where each workplace had a ‘partorg’ – a representative supervisor from the [Communist Party of the Soviet Union], or a whole department of them.”

Media, government trying to hide Pentagon-CCP collusion

Latypova expressed regret that this link to the CCP did not receive more coverage in the media and elsewhere. Moreover, she lamented how officials attempted to hide this connection by redacting certain information from documents made public as a result of Freedom of Information Act requests.

Latypova’s Substack post also expounded on the sources of money that bankrolled the DoD/Pfizer-BioNTech/CCP endeavor.

She noted that BioNTech, which began as a tiny company with just a handful of employees, managed to raise $1.7 billion in nine rounds of investments since around 2008. A large portion of the money amounting to more than $1 billion was raised before 2020, the year of the COVID-19 “plandemic.”

“What was it for, since no big clinical trials or scale manufacturing was happening then? That’s a good question worth examining at some point.”

Latypova also touched on people asking her about China’s involvement in the scheme. “I answered about China – they are allied with the DoD on this. The CCP is profiting from the financial windfall of the U.S. government printing dollars and throwing them into the mRNA furnaces where they are driving masses of the brainwashed citizens to suicide themselves,” she wrote.

“The national security, [defense] and intelligence officials absolutely knew all of this. They went ahead and authorized a $10 billion purchase order of this weaponizable tech from the Fosun-Pfizer-BioNTech enterprise – backed by numerous foreign governments, including the Chinese – to deliver and deploy it onto Americans.

Latypova ultimately lamented how the U.S. government and others utilize tax dollars to “fund, develop, then ‘approve’, purchase and deploy prohibited biowarfare agents for killing and injuring their own civilian population, their own armed forces, first responders, healthcare workers, pregnant women and children.”

JUST OUT: General Michael Flynn Sues DOJ, FBI and US Government for $50 Million for Malicious Persecution and Gross Abuse of Power

By Jim Hoft
Mar. 3, 2023 3:13 pm

General Michael Flynn is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who was the 24th U.S. National Security Advisor for the first 22 days of the Trump administration. General Flynn, a staunch Trump ally and confidante, was forced to resign in 2017 following screaming reports that he had lied regarding conversations with Sergey Kislyak, a Russian diplomat.  This was while the Democrat Party and highest levels of US intelligence concocted an attempted coup to take down the sitting President based on what they knew was fraudulent accusations that Trump was Vladimir Putin’s stooge.  General Michael Flynn was collateral damage.  They had to remove him to get to Trump.

General Michael Flynn was a huge target of Barack Obama, Democrats, the Deep State, and crooked Judge Sullivan, after he joined with Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign for president.  Obama particularly hated Flynn for pointing out the obvious during congressional testimony, that Antifa was sweeping across Syria-Iraq and Obama had no plan to prevent this.

After he was set up and removed from White House, Flynn was persecuted by lawless Judge Emmet Sullivan in a case that was dropped by the DOJ.  But for months afterward, Judge Sullivan refused to dismiss the case.  For some reason, this crooked leftist judge decided to pursue the charges himself knowing there was nothing there.  President Trump eventually pardoned General Michael Flynn after the system persecuted him and failed him.

Since that time, the American public learned through court proceedings that charges should never have been filed against General Flynn.

On Friday, General Michael Flynn filed a lawsuit against his government.  General Flynn is suing the government for “unjustified and illegal actions, including but not limited to malicious prosecution and abuse of process.”

From the lawsuit that was filed this moments ago:

This lawsuit seeks accountability and damages against the United States for these wrongs committed against General Flynn through its agents and agencies. Specifically, General Flynn seeks relief herein for Defendant’s agents and agencies’ violations of his constitutional and other legal rights in connection with this wrongful and malicious prosecution and gross abuse of process.

With all the cartel monies she's received... she has to do something in return!!!

REPORT: Illegal Border Crossings Already Increasing Since Governor Katie Hobbs Took Office – 30% More ‘Gotaways’ In Hobbs’ Second Month

By Jordan Conradson
Mar. 14, 2023 9:50 pm

Illegal immigration in Arizona is already increasing under the new fraudulently elected regime as Texas secures its southern border and Katie Hobbs leaves the border wide open.

The Cartels are reportedly crossing more through Arizona simply because it is easier for them. “The cartels run a business. They will choose the path of least resistance in order to lose as little product as possible,” said Jobe Dickinson, president of the Border Security Alliance.

Arizona CBP officials reportedly saw an almost 10% increase in apprehensions last month compared to January 2023 and roughly 30% more gotaways in February compared to the previous month.

Former Texas ICE and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Victor Avila told The Gateway Pundit earlier this year, “Arizona leads the numbers and gotaways when you compare Texas, New Mexico, and California, Arizona beats those numbers combined in gotaways. These are individuals that we have no idea who they are. Gotaways are, for those that don’t know, people illegally coming into this country that are not detected… and they’re going to every part of our country, not just the state of Arizona, but every part of our country. And we don’t know who they are, they’re not being completely vetted. As a matter of fact, even the ones that turn themselves in are not being completely vetted, so we don’t know who they are.”

This is further exacerbating the already massive fentanyl crisis that is flowing primarily through Arizona from Mexico and China. Avila told The Gateway Pundit, “Arizona is ground zero for the smuggling of fentanyl, not only into Arizona but the rest of the country.”

As Kari Lake, whose election was tragically stolen in 2022, said frequently on the campaign trail, “Arizona is the pipeline for fentanyl” in America.

The Gateway Pundit reported on a joint press conference last month with Tempe Police Interim Chief Josie Montenegro, Phoenix DEA Special Agent in Charge Cheri Oz, and Kris Mayes held a joint press conference to discuss the massive narcotic seizures in the Phoenix area, including over four and a half million fentanyl pills and over 140 pounds of fentanyl powder. “I want to be crystal clear. The drugs that are flooding Arizona every single day are sourced primarily by one evil entity, the Sinaloa Drug Cartel,” said Phoenix DEA Special Agent in Charge Cheri Oz.

Fraudulently elected Attorney General Kris Mayes admitted during the conference that half of the fentanyl pills seized nationwide last year were seized in Arizona.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Mayes then REFUSED to answer questions from The Gateway Pundit about the illegal immigration and drug crisis and her and Katie Hobbs’ plans to secure the border. She dodged all of our questions because they have no plan to secure the border!

The Center Square reported:

Since Gov. Katie Hobbs was sworn into office in January, the number of foreign nationals illegally entering Arizona has increased primarily in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Tucson Sector. And as several factors, including Texas expanding border security efforts, are resulting in illegal border crossings increasing further west, law enforcement officials say Arizona can expect greater numbers.

Arizona’s 378 miles of shared border with Mexico is patrolled by agents in two CBP sectors of Tucson and Yuma. Last month, agents in both sectors combined apprehended 36,296 foreign nationals, up from 33,193 in January.

They also reported 19,698 gotaways last month, up from 13,968 in January, according to preliminary data obtained by The Center Square from a Border Patrol agent. The agent provided the information on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. It only includes Border Patrol data and excludes Office of Field Operations data.

Tucson Sector’s 262 shared border miles with Mexico extends from the Yuma County line to the Arizona-New Mexico state line. Yuma Sector’s nearly 182,000 square miles of primarily desert terrain extends from Imperial Sand Dunes in California to the Yuma-Pima County line.

They're a liberal fact checking / site rating faction that gets monies from our Federal Government to sensor Republicans and give Democrats good ratings.

(i.e. Part of the misinformation/disinformation squad that is out their to suppress the truth the Democrats don't want out their and bolster the Democrats narrative! In other words, another Democrat biased covert operation!)
