If Democrats can do-opt weak Republicans like Bush or McConnell or Romney, they have effectively made followers of the establishment also ineffective. Democrats vote for policies so they will vote for a turnip if there is a D next to it. Republicans vote for people and ideologies so they expect more from their candidates.

Establishment Republicans will vote Democrat on issues where they are given lots of monies to break a Republican majority when necessary. That has been happening for at least the past 15 ~ 20 years.

RINOs always vote Democrat.
Establishment Republicans vote Democrat for the money.
At present, we have at least 12 ~ 15 RINO or Establishment Republicans in our Congress.

Whether it's blackmail or receiving monies, they need to be removed from the Republican party because they just sabotage votes that would have otherwise gone to the Republicans.
