Children need to have roles models of both sexes to learn to live with everyone as they become adults.

Initially, that role model was the nuclear family with both a mother and father in the home.

Single mothers and single fathers broke that in the beginning.

Then same sex marriages further disintegrated the process.

And now trans people are entering the realm only further exacerbating the problem.

Those are all role models. Whether they are good ones or not remains to be seen.
