What is the literal translation?

The red handwritten portion at the top says:

Please do not give to small children or elderly people. LOL

This is a Japanese thick chewy gummy like sweet candy but has almost zero calories.

However, small children and elderly people have been known to swallow it whole and it gets lodged in their throats and they choke.

The English translation is totally incorrect to say the least, but it's funny!

LOL...

See my reply to Showtalk above about what the original meaning should have said.

Is it a type of mochi? I’ve heard mochi can be deadly.

No, it's not mochi, but mochi (pulverized steamed rice) can also cause similar lodging in throat suffocation problems similar to Konyaku batake.

Oh, mochi is smashed rice? Who figured that out?

The Japanese... actually, I'm a mochi pounder in my local community! Not quite as fast as these guys, but still a pounder!
