I don’t see an issue with it, it’s been pretty much common knowledge for a while now. Latest national polling doesn’t have him doing to well against Trump, something I think everyone also knew as common knowledge, maybe that changes the math and he decides against it, we’ll see.

It begs one to ask "why did they print this?" even though he has not officially announced that he's running!

What was their motive?

Do you trust polls?  I don’t like journalists much, I don’t respect them.  There are all kinds of financial implication from being a candidate vs not, so if they declare him a candidate they can screw up his financials and funding a lot.

They either wanted a scalp or as I just posted, maybe wanted to cause him financial trouble.  He has $70 million left from his governor run but it must be handled very carefully. It would have to go into a PAC first. If they can claim he’s a candidate now, he could lose the use of that money. I think it’s intentional to force his hand.

Do you trust polls?”

Depending on the polling company? Yes.

I don’t like journalists much, I don’t respect them.”

this is what makes this forum so unbelievably frustrating to me, I find this position asinine, to the point that nothing I can post as a source is respected, and you and Walter get to post whatever you want to claim it as legitimate and often vacillate sources as trustworthy and non trustworthy in different threads, just so unbelievably hypocritical.

“There are all kinds of financial implication from being a candidate vs not, so if they declare him a candidate they can screw up his financials and funding a lot.”

Isn’t that primarily related to donor disclosures? Why does this matter, if he is running and I suspect he is, I think the public has a vested interest in where the money is coming from. I’m f he drops out, as I suspect he might as Trump gains momentum, who cares?

DeSantis is well aware of the rules, and he doesn't need to state if he's going to run until the deadline.

So, until he officially declares he's running, their article is just a lie!

Professional polls are only as good as the samples they use.  None of them are exceptionally well done.  I have personal reasons for distrusting journalists.  You tend to think all left journalists are trustworthy but they are all over the map. The best ones are the investigative journalists like Sara Carter, who are honest and take time to really dig into facts. The worst are newscaster types who parrot the party line and never write anything original. There are some I respect, in both sides. Bill Maher has turned out to be an excellent commentator and resource, although I don’t know if he’s even a journalist.

A lot of people care what happens to DeSantis. He may be the best high level politician in the country and he deserves to be treated with respect.
