I did hear that someone hacked the hackers and took tens to hundreds of millions in cryptocurrency from them while shutting down their entire ability to conduct further cyberterrorism.

Will that stop them? Something must!

As long as our lifelines... (electrical power {incl. nuclear}, water, gas/petroleum) are connected to the internet, there is a possibility that they can be hacked... or at least shut down with a DoS (Denial of Service) attack.

The only way to prevent this is to go off the grid or use a private grid which cannot be hacked.

But with all the devices we have today with USB, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G/5G, other IoT devices using their own proprietary methods... being used by many of these lifeline providers... hardening them such that they cannot be attacked is something that should have already been put into place.

However, as you can clearly see, what should have been in place isn't and that's where the break occurred. So you find where the break occurred, plug it and ensure it stays plugged as well as ensuring that there are no other unplugged vulnerabilities!

There must be motivation to do this.

Money and making news headlines for the hackers.

One hack can reap millions or more!

In this case, the hackers are out of business, for now.

Semantics. It’s about energy independence and whether or not we want prices to stay high.  With an increase in gas tax and a decrease in production, prices will not fall as they have in the past due to seasonal reasons or excess.  We haven’t seen anything yet.

There are hundreds of thousands if not more hackers in the dark web. Taking out just a few of them will hardly put a dent in their activity!

Politifact is a liberal leaning organization and thus they're going to lie and print fake news... including their fact checking about any and everything.

They quote >>>Gas prices have gone up under President Joe Biden, continuing an upward trend that began in May 2020<<< but the AAA charts I provided show that they have not been going up since May 2020.

Likewise, the picture you included was from >>>Gasoline and diesel prices at a Shell gas station in Westwood, Mass., on Feb. 18, 2021. (AP)<<<. We're now in May 22, 2021.

Continuing...

>>>Gasoline prices have a seasonal component: Demand rises during the summer and falls during the colder months, meaning that summer prices tend to be higher. That pattern is exacerbated by laws requiring more expensive gasoline formulations during the summer in order to limit emissions.<<<

Exactly which laws are those and exactly who implemented them and when? When you get the answers to that, you'll find out what is really what.

>>>Looking just at winter levels, gasoline prices today are roughly in line with where they were at similar points in the calendar in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, when Trump was in office.<<<

Well, that's accurate. Winter is usually Nov ~ Feb. Biden took office Jan 20, 2021 (towards the end of winter) and then stopped the pipeline. We also started importing oil from overseas after Biden took office.

Are you trying to say that it's cheaper to send oil in large oil tankers from the Middle East... all the way to the US than it is to pump it locally? Well, imported oil was at the lowest it's ever been while Trump was in office and it started to increase under Biden. This didn't happen in May 2020 as Politifact wants people to believe with their unbelievable graph.

Got any more credible sources?

Whenever I see someone using the phrase "fake news", that signifies to me that there is no point in trying to reason with that person.  Good luck in your battle with reality.
