Did they only exist since Obama left the WH?

How long of a rope to lasso the top and pull down the Washington Monument?   Or Mt. Rushmore?  or Jefferson Memorial?

Do we remember people for their greatest contributions to mankind and our country?  Or do we castigate them for any of their sins?   When and where does it stop?

Washington had slaves - and didn't free them until after he was dead;  Same as Jefferson?  MLK had mistresses - how long will it take before they tear down his monument.

Crazy.

U.S.—Looking to protect their statues and other municipal monuments, cities and towns across the country have begun disguising their statues as Karl Marx.

City councils all over are ordering Karl Marx wigs and putting them on Teddy Roosevelt, George Washington, Christopher Columbus, and other statues. The move has proven extremely effective at deterring Antifa and other extremist groups, who are only looking for statues of old hateful white guys to destroy and not statues of communists.

"As soon as enraged rioters see the statue isn't of a dangerous, murderous madman whose ideas killed hundreds of millions but is just of Karl Marx, they move on," said one city council member in Illinois as he put a Karl Marx wig and beard on a statue of Abraham Lincoln. "Well, first, they bow respectfully to their hero and then move on."

Plaques on the statues with controversial quotes from the Founding Fathers are also being covered up with Marx quotes like "Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution!" and "Workers of the world, unite!"

Some towns are reporting that Che Guevara chin stubble and a beret also work wonders at saving the monuments.

This is something I wrote to our Mayor and at large and local city councilmen this past week:

I have pretty much remained silent on social media about all of the riots, looting, demonstrations, and carrying on across our nation. Some of it out of fear of reprisal, some of it so as not to offend friends that I hold dear and have different points of view from me because I truly do care about them. I just know that with COVID, jobs shot down, social and societal unrest...now is not the time to engage in what feels like meaningless debate over social media that seek to simply stir the pot. I hope that none of this offends anyone I care about. If it does, you know my heart is not malicious, and that is not my intention. I truly do believe that just because we see the world differently does not mean I do not respect you, or love you, or think you're a horrible person. Far from it. I value those differences and it gives me pause to do some self reflection and evaluation. My silence came to an end last night.

I watched KRIS news last night, and became upset when I saw a story about how the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in Corpus Christi are inquiring about removing a statue that was built in 1914 and paid for by the 'Daughters of the Confederacy'. I have not spoken out about much, but now that it is in my backyard, I feel compelled to do so. I am not defending this statue or the Daughters of the Confederacy. I am defending our history as a city, state, and nation. I am defending how our nation righted a great immoral institution and has strived since our inception to get it right and make it right. America has never claimed to be 100% right, but I take pride as an American that we strive to achieve that which is right...despite the fact that it often causes great conflict and strife. We, as Americans, seek to grow and elevate our game.

The DSA are communists. I am not joking, I am not making it up. Read who they are. Read what they stand for. Read what they are about. They will smile in your face and speak platitudes about 'inclusion' and 'tolerance' when in fact they are the LEAST tolerant people on the planet. They will tell you how they value 'free speech' but the moment you say anything that the DSA disagrees with, you get shouted down as a racist and doxxed to your employer in an attempt to ruin your life and career. The DSA will tell you they value inclusion, but the moment you tell them "de-funding the police is a bad idea", you get yelled down as a racist and supporting institutional racism. The DSA will tell you they value diversity of thought, but that is a lie...when you explain to the DSA how you support the rule of law and law enforcement, you will be branded a supporter of institutional racism. Fail to 'bend the knee', and you're just exericsing your white privilege and need to be taken down a peg. The DSA are liars, subversives, and a danger to America and should be treated as such.

The DSA and their followers are as anti-American and anti-Constitution and Civil liberty as it gets. The answer to speech you disagree with is MORE SPEECH, and that is exactly what I intend to do. It is my intention to speak out against this attack on American History. The very idea of removing statues is repugnant to me and it should be to you as well...not in defense of racism or bigotry or "The Confederacy", but in defense of memorializing our history. These monuments, especially those that some find offensive, are indicative of things that happened, and SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE PAINFUL OR HURTFUL. You remember them so that you do not repeat them! They should serve as a reminder of when this nation righted wrongs and the price paid to make it right.

My opinions and thoughts on this have nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats or racism or some odd support for The Confederacy...this has to do with the complete erasure and undermining of American history and our culture...the good, the bad and the ugly parts of it. We should erase and remove nothing. Those people that choose to ignore history, let alone remove it and erase it, are doomed to repeat it.

I urge Paulette Guajardo, Greg Smith, and Mayor McComb to tell the DSA "NO" we will not be removing any statues in Corpus Christi, and I urge the Mayor to direct Sheriff Hooper and Chief Markel to deal swiftly and harshly with those that seek to damage public property. I urge YOU, the citizens of Corpus Christi, to let Paulette Guajardo, Greg Smith and Mayor McComb that we do not want history erased and removed. Call them, email them, message them on facebook and let them know that we will NOT allow this to happen. I also want you to let them know WE ARE WATCHING THEIR RESPONSE AND THAT WE WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY LAWLESSNESS AND VIOLENCE AND DESTRUCTION IN OUR CITY UNDER THE GUISE OF POLITICAL PROTEST.

Ladies and Gentlemen all that is necessary for evil to win is for good men (and women) to do nothing. I am asking yo

Just an update, but our mayor reached out to me, and is sending me the response he sent to the DSA basically telling them to pound sand.
