I don't think they can do what he does as consistently because of their swing vs his swing.  I think his swing is VERY simple, and that is what allows him to go at it so hard.

No one, and I mean no one, claims to drink that many protein shakes unless they are on steroids.

Having a bad back myself … I would love to know his full core routine (assuming this 59 year old body could handle it, lol). 

I don't think he looks "roid-massive".  There's far less muscular definition than he had a year or so ago.  He looks more like a power lifter.  That combined with maintained flexibility seems like a perfect recipe for what he's trying to achieve.

Powerlifting Is One of the Only Sports Where Steroids Are Allowed

I’m in the middle of the warm-up area of a British powerlifting competition. The athletes around me will soon walk out onto the platform and perform their best squat, bench and deadlift in an attempt to score the biggest total score of the day. For months they’ve been timing their nutrition, training, supplements – and in some cases steroids – perfectly to have a shot at lifting more weight than they ever have before.

In this competition, athletes are divided into "flights" or sections, depending on how much they lift. But there is another divide: those who compete under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) – mainly steroids – and those who don’t.

PEDs are used to help increase performance in sport by raising strength, accelerating muscle growth, and aiding recovery. They have a range of negative side effects including reduced sperm count and shrunken testicles in men and hair growth and loss of breasts for women.

Despite being legal to take – but illegal to distribute without prescription – steroids and other PEDs are outrightly banned in most sports. Apart from powerlifting.

I guess I'm inferring/believing Bryson is in the "clean flight".  But let me re-phrase for clarification ... he doesn't look like he packed on 30 pounds of pure lean muscle ... it looks as though he just got bigger from the tons of extra calories consumed to support his strength training.

Seems to me that some have immediately jumped to the conclusion of "Steroids" - either because they never weight trained, are too old to remember just how malleable the human body can be at a young age, or lacked the discipline some have to bring about transformations (and Bryson's isn't even close to the most impressive I've seen).

I can't explain those who glom onto his statements about drinking so many protein drinks ... but then, curiously, ignore his statements about hours in the gym, every single day, for months.  I don't believe he ever said (or anyone ever did) that his strength/size gains were solely from drinking protein drinks.
