It’s a tough call.

Trump could try a high ground maneuver and pay his respects and say that he does not plan to name anyone until after the election.

That probably solidifies his re-election, but if the Senate flips, he has to wait until 2022 to nominate a conservative ASSUMING the Senate flips back.

Just stay away from the fuc***g Roberts type of assh***

Lindsey runs the hearing and may punt as well. It probably doesn’t happen. Too many chicken shits on the R side. You know the Dems would ram this through if the situation was reversed.

President Donald Trump will put forth a nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away Friday evening from complications of pancreatic cancer, “in the coming days,” according to sources who spoke to ABC News

Rasmussen just gave some good advice. Trump should narrow the list two 2 or 3 and say these are my choices to fill the seat after I am re-elected. And challenge Biden to provide his list. It gets too messy to herd the republican cats 50 days before the election.

Murkowski already said that a vote should not occur before the inauguration.   Mittens would no doubt concur.

A justice needs to be named and confirmed prior to the election in case the election is contested.  A 4-4 tie would be bad.  Maybe Trump can make a recess appointment?

A week ago Trump said he has his Supreme Court list and challenged Biden to name his list.
I doubt the nominee list will change anyone's vote, since most on it won't be known by most people.

If the GOP can get 51 senators to agree, they could get it through, just in case Biden wins.
The Dems don't play fair, so just do it, if possible.

The negative is it will take time away from campaigning and if Trump wins there wiil be time.

Merrick Garland.

That would blow everyone's mind. He can't be as liberal as RBG. Democrats would have a hard time opposing since they pitched a fit about it 5 years ago.
