A dozen grapes is a Spanish tradition for good luck. Maybe common in Portugal also?

My mother would serve pickled herring on NYE. A Swedish, and maybe other place tradition. My sister and I would not go near it. Still seems disgusting to me. 

I’m always up till at least then too. Now I have really shifted and am up from anywhere from 2am to almost 4am last night. I hear they do a free party kind of thing in one of the main squares on the river with nice music and fireworks, etc.   I may walk down and check that out. I agree, pickled herring is gross. Here it is a dozen raisins, which are also not appealing to me though I could get them down if I tried.

Hmmmm. Well, I just bought a ticket to visit my daughter…is that vacation? I’ll say that.

Im missing my favorite peanut butter. Trader Joe’s has one that is made with unblanched peanuts. Just those and salt and it is sooo good. Honestly, so far the peanut butter here is kind of blah….
