Dear Ernie and friends ~
It seems as if I get a later start with each passing day. I understand that sleep is important for your body to heal and therefore I take advantage of the deep sleep that comes in the morning.
Nice here ~ cloudy, warm and we have had lots and lots of rain. My condo neighbors took it upon themselves to plant pansies surrounding the tree we share, orange and yellow marigolds in front of our joint bushes and a coral hibiscus plant in a large pot in our joint walkway space. I told Jim that this is where condo living takes lots and lots of patience. My gardens consist of pale blues, and pinks ~ old fashioned hollyhocks, columbines, forget me nots, hosta and zonal pink geraniums and euphorbia in a window planter. So, can you picture the conflicting colors???? NOT.
So, onward we go. I must somehow do a drive through for bird seed and small white rock and go to the grocery store with a mask. I try to go once a week only. The kids will come to continue the plank floor tomorrow. The kitchen is coming together.
Enjoy the week-end. I hope you will get out warm temperatures...

Morning Susan. I enjoy the flowers others plant. The contrast must not look so great. Guess we are all getting the warmer temperatures and rain. I saw a rain front passing through Kitty's area also.
Think they are having a drought there so rain is good.
I'm getting some of the maintenance done on vehicles and mowers but can't put the Monte Carlo SS on the road for the Summer, DMV for registration is closed until at least the end of May.
Had to go to Lowes to return a screen that's to small yesterday and get some gravel cover. Was a pain to try to talk to people through a mask. Got everything done. Have to go to the Farmer's Market this morning to get laundry detergent for us and mother in law. Everyone likes it because it doesn't require softener and only costs $7 a gallon.
I just got some bird seed. We have 5 feeders in the front and rear of the house.
Have a great day.
Ernie

Hi Kitty ~
Sure, I will share soon. A bit of a problem loading the pictures from the cell phone to the HP but I will try soon. We continue our journey ~ Megan and Dan worked two week end days with the plank floor to really get us going. The kitchen and part of the foyer were complete and today, Jim and I continued on with the closet, foyer and into the half bath. The kitchen is finished except to purchase a new ss microwave (maybe special deals on Memorial Day) and a brushed stainless steel backsplash.
We may take a break of one month before the carpeting in great room gets ripped out and the we put the plank flooring in place. Phew...just shows you what two seniors can really accomplish if given the time. And besides, what else is there to do?
Restrictions lifted but we are hardly in any hurry to resume inside restaurant activities or Mass.
How is life on Sanibel I can't imagine that many tourists will be flocking down this summer....but maybe they will...
((hugs)) Susan

Hi Ernie,
Really cute picture of your granddaughter and a very very cool car for those of us who indeed remember the Monte Carlo models. Did I ever tell you the 1972 MonteCarlo story? Probably. We were married in 1969 and managed to save the 20% downpayment on a brick home. Prior to finding the home, Joe had ordered a brand new green MonteCarlo......I was always "cautious" with money and I thought that the payment of the mortgage and the car would be too much. He surprisingly agreed and the dealership gave us our down payment back. Bummer... The children didn't arrive until years later...so it would have been do-able to have both.
Salmon on the grille, Bob Evans mashed potatoes and broccolli for dinner. Better get started. Finally, finally, a lovely day here with NO rain. We have had more than enough.

Dear Cherie ~
The rain has stopped (finally) and this afternoon has turned into a very lovely day. I will "huff and puff" and send this weather along to you and Ernie ~
The grass is very green and very tall. The lawncare guys will come swooping through tomorow and take care of it all.
Hoping all is well with you. Tell us again where you reside. Pretty sure in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area.....
