Good morning, Miss Kitty ~

I hope this finds you well.  I miss you posting!  Your last post stated that you need rain up there…. Well, I’ll be happy to send you lots and lots from Avon Lake, Ohio.  We’ve had a very wet and soggy Spring.  Everything is as green as Ireland and the flowers are up and doing well.  I have lots and lots of hollyhocks and that makes me happy.  My forget-me-nots are doing well too but they will be short lived once the heat of summer arrives. I wish they would last all summer.

Are you still doing rehab?

Write and let us know how you and Brian are doing….

Good morning all.  We have the same, was rain all day one day then on and off rain rest of the week.  Starting

Saturday supposed to be dry and warmer each day into next week.  We were supposed to be rain free this morn

but it changed and our walk before traffic this morn got rained out.  Light rain but we don't walk in it.

I have no experience with living communities.  Doesn't sound good to me.

Have been working some on little projects.  Most this time of year require some time outdoors and just keeps

raining.  We have a birthday party for one of our daughters this eve so will be nice to have a get together.  I will

head out soon to take care of everyone's garbage.  I was going to remove the crankshaft from an engine in my

daughter's garage today but will put it off because of getting ready for today's party.  Hope I have the energy to

get it done tomorrow.  Crankshaft has to be turned at a machine shop northeast of here.  We don't have one in the

towns here anymore.  It's to be used for the other Monte Carlo we have.  It's a Sport Coupe we bought new in 1984.

Has been sitting for many years.

I have thought of using a fitness center they built where Sears used to be in our Mall but can exercise here walking or

on the elliptical so don't really need it for a reduced cost or free.  Right now I don't have to fire up a vehicle to exercise.

Good luck to Jim with his car detailing.  Also, have a good trip.  I also wonder what Kitty and Brian have been up to.  Know

they've been working on different projects.  Kitty will be smoke free 16 years in a couple months.

Have a great day all.

Ernie

Allis Chalmers diesel with brush hog I fixed the hydraulic drive on.  Had no experience on them so was touch and go.

Dear Dee,

This is Susan (phoebemagnolia) from the Sensational Senior group.  Where would I post a message that many former/current members would see?    Thank you for any information you may give to me.  I rarely venture away from the Senior Group.  Susan

Dear Sensational Senior friends ~

I received a call this afternoon from a dear friend, my mentor for years in this group.  Kitty Arnold (I called her Miss Kitty) actually rescued me from my original Nope-vember group when it ceased to exist and welcomed me with open arms into the Sensational Senior Group.   She was instrumental in keeping this group alive and I am sure many will remember her contributions.

Kitty has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is awaiting more tests.  She asked that I send a message here and tell the members that even though her fifteen year milestone mark will be in July, she now has cancer.   She wanted me to tell you that it is never too late for anyone to quit.

We are hopeful that this was caught in time and with the necessary medical intervention she will be well again.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and I personally want to thank her for what she did to help me and so many many others in their journey.

Dear Dee,

With a little bit of frustration, I was able to find the General Message section and I posted a message for Kitty Arnold.  Susan

Sad to hear the update from Miss Kitty. Bless her and the medical staff that are helping her.

Yes, never too late to quit, and never too early to quit.

I remain impressed, Ernie, that you can fix things you have no experience on. I guess necessity is the mother of invention. There's really not much I need to, or am allowed to fix, living in a condo.

Enjoy the evening everyone,

Paul

Hi Susan,

Yes, this neighborhood is very homogenous. This news video probably explains it better. It's from after the destruction from Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Sorry to see this Susan.  Kitty was so inspirational to so many back when the forum was alive with activity.

Not that it matters but she quit in July 2007 right after me in April, so 16 years for Kitty.  Her and Mary Ann,

or Queenie, were a tag team here for many years.  She met up with John Quincy Adams the fifth at an airport

for a few minutes one year.  All very active on the Chantix forum, a med we all used to help us quit.  In addition

to this forum.  We had a lot of active helpers back in the day, Pancake, Smoker Dave, many many others.

My mom was a smoker most of her life and died when 61 years old in 1987.  I've missed her so.  Back in the day

many of these people started doctors were telling the public smoking was good for health.  WW2 era before and

after.  Was 20 years after my mom died from smoking I finally quit for good, managed 11 months right after but

started back up.

There was a lady on this forum that lived another 5 years with medical help with lung cancer, stage 4 think they

called it.  Can't remember her name.

The vascular surgeon says my aneurysm caused from plaque weakening the artery walls, partly from smoking.

I just barely caught it looking for another medical problem.  Was growing fast when they found it.  I would have

most likely died in 2016 at age 61.  Got the Aorta stent put in May of 2016.  Just had annual check up ultra sound

this past week.

Sad to see this.  Hope and pray medical team is able to help her.  Thanks for getting this news to us Susan.  I remember

your trip down to Sanibel Island and visiting Kitty.

Morning Paul.  Have to keep learning and growing on what I already know.  The mower

deck is ready to do it's job when the current one explodes.

I watched your Breezy Point article.  Guess they figure on helping each other and don't

require outside help.  Guess that's ok.

No walk for us this morn, rain again.

Ernie
