A chilly day here in Avon Lake. I am still watering the plants each day.
Your posting has merit. My husband and I had our turn with the girls. Both are loving adults, one a teacher and one with a MSW in Social Work. We had our turn, so to speak. Yes, silence and smiling are both a good thing!
Oh my goodness, sounds like your brother could get into a real problem with posting such things on line. Does he have children who could watch over him????
A cool day here. Must get on with my daily watering.
How are you feeling? Tis hard to believe that COVID is still around ~ not sure what the booster protocol is now? I think we had the recommended amount. Susan
When my youngest niece complained about nonsense in HS, I'd tell her how her great-grandmother at 16 got in a boat, probably steerage, came to a country where she knew nobody, didn't speak English, was swindled out of all the money she came with, and she never complained. My niece would ask me if I knew any stories from this century.
I'd tell her brother that when his grandfather was not much older than him, he was living in a barracks, getting shot at by the nazis he was trying to bomb. He didn't find it relevant either.
So, I smile and talk baseball.
I felt some raindrops as I was headed home but I don't think we had much rain.
Good morning Susan, Paul, and all. Not sure about taking the pups out this morn, We're still under
the smoke particle alert. Could see the smoke in the air all day Tuesday. Guess I will go outside and
see how it is. We're about 500 miles from the fires.
Brother and his wife didn't have kids. She had kids in her previous marriage but they aren't around
much, some to help her. They probably did a lot for them but many years ago and people forget.
If he had someone there to care for him all the time he would probably live another decade. Neither
my sister or me want to give up our lives to take around the clock care of him. He could still get away
with some of this stuff even with total care. Would have to take his phone away from him. My daughter's
mother in law lost her money in scams. She just worked around anyone that tried to help her. Last I looked
he still had picture of his credit card on facebook. It's to blurry to read. I told him to delete it, don't know
if he did. His friend wants me to help get him into a home but he will just copy his wife. Will stop eating and
taking his meds until he dies.
My dad was in D-Day and those other well known battles in Europe in WW2. I only heard him talk about
it once in the last 2 years he was alive. Then only about the camp he waited in for D-Day. He did tell me
he walked across Europe with a duffel bag on his back. Was when I was talking about the drill sergeant
making me run around the platoon while it was running with a duffel gag. I was limping from a ankle
injury I got before I joined.
Have a great day all.
We had the right about...thankfully it has been mild....so no problem...just want to get the biopsy done etc....just to know what we are facing helps dealing with a crisis if you know what it is....lol...have a good one....
Watching the nightly news tonight with the pictures of NYC ~ certainly an alarming situation shown. Our local news calls for some smoke to arrive in the Cleveland area tomorrow and tomorrow night ~ so we will have to keep ourselves apprised of the local conditions. Not a good thing for those who have outside jobs and respiratory conditions.
Cool here but a bike ride tonight is in order. They have begun the annual blowing of mulch in the large island flower beds. Individual condos will be arriving after.
Stay safe. Susan
Looks as if your area is being hit also with the smoke from Quebec. I watched the nightly news and the situation in NYC looks dire.
I’m watching two sparrows….one feeding the other a kernel of the new bird seed…one at a time!
Off on a bicycle ride through the area tonight.
Stay safe. Susan
You are probably very busy with your grandson now that school is over.
My youngest daughter goes to a private nursery school and today, a car struck two of her little classmates as they were being walked from the soccer field to the school. Apparently, an ignorant driver went around a utility vehicle and struck two five year old boys. Thankfully, the boys were taken to the hospital and then released with no significant injuries. Just goes to show one that even though the teachers are so responsible and followed all of the rules, drivers are unpredictable.
Lovely day here. Minimal amount of smoke from the Quebec fires…maybe some tomorrow.
I was out this morning and there was definitely a fire smell. I normally go to my office on Thursday but will not tomorrow. The Air Quality Index is 280 here, but I don't think I ever paid attention to it before. I looked at a map and was surprised it was not higher in New England or Quebec itself.
I'm sure the new exaggerates a bit. We are lucky it has been relatively cool. I assume it would be worse if it was hotter, but I don't know.
