I was using Step 2 patches but have gone back to step 1 + lozenge at times when I need it, though I have been using the gum, I can imagine life without cigarettes and it paints a rosy picture, I will have to hang onto this hope. I guess your right about my wife, what is going to turn her? The dentures are real I do need them I will save up for them after I get my orthotics fitted and new joggers. When I think of all the damage done to my body after 40 years of smoking I could cry, still we have to work with what we have. Thanks for your support.

Of course Anthony. Together we can do this. Slow and steady friend. Like Susan said...just keep the patch on. And don’t stop trying. One day something will click and you will be looking back at several months. Hopefully your wife will too.
Hi Anthony, I know that I can also fall at anytime, so I will not judge. The only advice I can offer is that I did find it easier to quit not using the will power alone..I read repeatedly again and again things that make sense to me, so that they penetrate my brain, to strengthen the understanding that cigarettes do absolutely nothing for us whatsoever. You have a challenging situation of living with a smoker who won't quit, but that should not discourage you. I am going to spend a few days with a friend who smokes and I will have to face that challenge because I will always have smokers around me even if not living in my house.
My aunt's husband quit 20 years before she did. She refused and had no desire to stop. Then finally she started being breathless when going up the stairs (she is a super active person) and went to see the doctor. He took and showed a her an Xray of her lungs. She came out of the Doctor's office and never smoked again. Try, try again. Its clear you really want it, so I bet you will finally succeed.
Thanks xvaper, renewing your mind I like that, I will read more about quitting, I have good genes both my parents lived into their 90's and dad smoked all his life until he was bed ridden. not that I want to go down that path. I keep reading over my reasons for quitting, and they make good sense at the time, still it's only 7 cigarettes over three days, but if I don't nip it in the bud now I never will, thanks for your support and congrats on the 60 days, great work

That's what I'm talking bout! 8 hours is just the beginning of this adventure! You know the first couple days is hard, but think, you get to sleep even more hours. That stuff adds up. Keep going, Anthony! Keep us updated.

Spent this morning out in the garden after taking my sunrise shot and Arthritis exercises, a sudden deluge from the heavens inhibited me from completing the task but there's always tomorrow. After a hot shower I was drenched from the rain, I put on my Google mini hub and fell asleep to rainforest sounds, woke up at 5:30 pm and have been poking around on the computer and reading a photography book since, ready for bed again.
Signing out, tomorrow is the first day of spring for us down under...
You're doing great! I bet those rainforest sounds really help. In the class I took they gave you a CD of guided meditations. The guy's voice was super annoying but it turned me on to relaxing sounds to get through urges. First day of spring, eh? You are definitely a lucky fellow. We're starting September up here and it's my favorite time of the year. The days get cooler and it's when all the leaves start to turn. You're really on this quit and I'm very proud of your progress! Keep going, don't you give in to this addiction. I know the mornings are hard, but pop in a lozenge and get that patch on and let's do this thing!
