Hey Isabella, 

I’m glad to see that you’ve returned to the forum. I’m sorry to hear that you lost your August quit. However, I’m so happy you’ve returned this month to give quitting another go. Try not to dwell on the past. The most important thing is that you’ve made the decision to quit again. If you can, try to keep your focus on today and take your quit a day at a time. I’ve said this before but try not to look too far ahead, as that can sometimes cause added stress or anxiety that you don’t need starting out. Also, try not to dwell on past slips, as that can sometimes cause our minds to set us up for failure. Try to keep your thoughts about cessation on today and remind yourself often that you can do this. Take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time if necessary and let that be enough for now. The time will add up and each moment free is a moment closer to freedom from it. Please settle back in, read, post, and join in. We’re all so happy to have you back here with us. Also, please remember, if at anytime you start to feel as though you might give in to a craving, please post at least three times, three minutes apart first before doing so to give someone here a chance to respond and try to help. Thank you. You are not alone with your quit here. Just as before, we’re all here to support, help, and cheer you and each other on. Since you did post these messages, I can only assume your question is in relation to posting a new topic on the forum. If that is correct, the way to do that is by clicking the ‘+New Topic’ button at the upper right of your screen. 

 

A window will open for you to add the subject of your post, to whom your addressing it (usually ALL), and then choose under which folder you would like your message to appear. Type your message and when you are finished select/click post as you normally would, just as you did when posted these two messages.

How horrifying to loose a 4 1/2 year quit.  Thank you for posting this.  It is a good reminder of just how precarious a quit truly is.  Just like heroin or crack addicts - it just takes one hit to end up right back to the addiction.  One puff, one hit, is enough to drag you back into the full on addiction.

  I wish you every bit of strength and tenacity to overcome your relapse and come back to your non-smoking lifestyle.   It may be twice as hard but you will appreciate it that much more.   We are with you all the way!

Well done!  Day 3 is excellent beginning.  Don't stop.  Keep hanging in there.  Do some reading and posting and relating to others on this forum.  It will help.

Remember, you are fighting with yourself.   You are getting your body clean from a horrible addiction.  It gets easier as the days go by but only if you stick with it.

Thanks for this earlier on i really felt like lighting up but after reading a few posts on this forum i started with the book becoming a super natural by dr joe dispenza its night here in south africa now gonna take a long bubble bath which i dont usually do i just usually take a quick shower and again thanks for the response.

Good choice,

Distraction is key to getting past those crave waves.  There is some excellent literature in the library of this forum.    Also, Allan Carr's Easy Way to Quite Smoking  is available on-line at  http://prdupl02.ynet.co.il/ForumFiles_2/15119301.pdf

There is another website    WhyQuit.com, very helpful reading.

Always remember, you are in control.  You decide what you think about and what is right for you.  Those crave waves last about 2 minutes - go get some root-beer or ice chips or something and ride that wave without falling of your quit.

It's your life.  You decide how to live it.

3 days is a fabulous start and the hardest 3 days there is........You will have battles but, every craving you get through without smoking brings you closer to full healing.  Just keep reading and posting and yes, taking baths..........hands being wet makes it hard to try to smoke!  Keep up the good work and before you know it you will be celebrating your first week.  Just keep moving forward and yell out for help any time

Thanks so much.. It means so much to have your support. This is how, I was able to quit the first time, just knew I had to go back to what worked before. I have 24hrs under my belt,and I am feeling pretty good about that.

I am back from relapsing after a 4 and half year quit. Believe me.... its better on the quitter's team.. Yes,it is very emotional and you will have to fight for this,but I tell you this,it's  worth every tear and crazy thoughts you will ever have..... You will never need to smoke again and when you get a little time under your belt.. you will look back at smoking and think "WT Heck , was that all about.. and you will be proud! Keep up the good work, there are a lot of good ppl on this site,that knows exactly what you're going through... You are not alone!
