I quit smoking 3 years 4 months ago. Today I am super stressed at work and, gawd, I want a cigeratte. Go figure....lol Well, since I dont' want to end up in that cesspit again, I better find something else to relieve the stress. So I came here. To post out the stress and catch up with my fellow quitters. Just to let you all know that working at being a quitter never ends. It may get easier for the most part but, a time will come when we are once again challenged to maintain that quitter status. All I need to do now is read some of the post from those who are working on their quits, 3 months and 5 months in and realize how far I have come. Then read the posts of those who have 5 years and 10 years to know, that is the direction I am going. Don't look back, look forward.
Wow, already the urge is gone. That was fast. Thank you all for being here. Now back to work. CHeers

Hi Anne,
Im sorry it’s such a stressful work day. I understand that knee jerk reaction that still happens occasionally. Thank goodness it is really rare at this point. What an amazing example you have been to so many people! And yet another amazing example today in handling this phase of the addiction and staying a quitter. Fantastic! This site really does make a difference in our lives.
You got this. Strong work for sure and I know you got this going forward!

Well you are most certainly doing your part on this forum. You are a really great quit pal (QP) and we all rely on QP's like you to keep us going on the quit side. I really appreciated hearing from you - thank you.

I thought it would help not just me but others who are feeling that 'quick smoke' urge, however briefly. It totally worked for me and it only took a few sentences.
The people on this forum are a real blessing.
Cheers

Anne you have helped me be successful in my almost 18-month quit, after about 40 years of off-and-on smoking. I'll forever be grateful to you and the other warriors on this site! I love that you shared your fleeting desire to smoke and the tools you used to deal with it. Hugs to you,
Martha
