Hey Douglas, hey peeps. Douglas, I understand your financial gains in November, December and January, as I work in retail. Our biggest revenue happens November and December, the Christmas season, where people spend and spend and spend, with no regard to their savings at all. It's crazy how the commercialism of Christmas hits people up to run their credit cards to the max. I earn a bigger commission these months, so I work hard, and it does pay off. Do your thing Douglas, and stay safe mentally through these busier months, and hopefully you get some enjoyment from the business. I am currently at work and a lot has happened here for me over the past week. I gave my one week's resignation notice this past Thursday. I cannot write anymore at this time, but want you all to know that for the first time in my life, I stuck up for myself during very mentally challenging stress. It feels good using my voice. I do have to run. Will write more tomorrow. Blessings!

Hi Jerthie,

Wow, this could be a whole new beginning for you.  You'll be out of an environment that doesn't contribute to your well-being, what with the ever present temptation to indulge in smokes.  You should have no problem finding new employment and if you have a financial cushion you can spend a bit of time finding a job more congenial to your temperament. Good for you, keep us abreast of your new possibilities!

Thank you Douglas. I am torn, to be honest. I do like my boss a lot. I admire her drive and ambition. I do like makeup and skincare, hair and nails. But my boss is a little toxic. When I gave her my letter of resignation, she begged me to stay for three hours straight. I know I can excel in the beauty industry and in drugstore retail, but I will be honest. It comes riddled with a lot of stress: quotas, ipad duties, merchandising, stock, cleaning, etc. My last day should be this coming Thursday, but my boss asked me to stay another week as a favour.

I just give all of my cares and worries to the Lord, ask him to let the breath of the Holy Spirit pull and guide me in the right directions. Bottom line is I might decide to stay. It's a tricky matter of the heart. Emotionally and even a bit mentally I want to stay, but I also think for my mental health, I want to leave.

I am studying in a women's spiritual personal awaking course at my church. The support and protection my group offers me has kept my mental health in a better state than if I had not been studying.

I do have a financial cushion to support myself for a couple of months. I love my boss. I will not write anything else about her because I am keeping her and myself in closed private prayer as means to receive a direction that is divine and not influenced by worldly opinion or worldly emotions.

Hope you are having a peaceful night.

I have looked at other job opportunities. There are a few positions out there that would offer me enough money to live a healthy and happy life. 14 lozenges today, but passed up on all offers to smoke. Good night all and blessings upon us all!

Hi Jerthie,

Glad to hear you have some options to choose from. But don't let the season slide by because, in the blink of an eye, it's over.  I say make as much as you can wherever you can make the most and when it's over chill and look for something new, something that will stimulate your creativity, something that will challenge you.

Stay well

Thank you for all of your support Douglas. I have made a solid decision in leaving the store I work/ worked at. My last day, by law, tomorrow. My boss has asked me to give her another week or at least a few more days. My emotions are being challenged. I don't wish her harm. I still wish her all the best. But her energy really does not gel with mine, unless I bend my mind over, a lot, to be like her. She said some painful things. A part of me cares. A bigger part of me wants to stick to what is fair and what the law stipulates, and not going above and beyond it.

About stimulating my creativity, I would like that, though I also think it might be nice to be a warm body somewhere with nothing beyond that. The thing with being just a warm body is that it frees you up to enjoy outside hobbies and interest with more time and energy.

How are you doing? Hope you are staying well!

"My emotions are being challenged"

Don't let that happen. As Julius Ceasar famously said just before crossing the Rubicon: "Alea iacta est" (the die has been cast).  Your decision has been made. If you change it to accommodate your manager's needs you will weaken your self esteem.  You will put someone else's needs ahead of what's important to you, to your well-being,  to your future.  Patiently explain this to your manager, who is also a close friend.  As such she should be encouraging you, wishing you the best in your chosen path.

She knew this was coming but maybe thought she could sway you to postpone your rendezvous with destiny.  Prove her wrong.  Leave and thank yourself for having mustered the fortitude to cross your personal Rubicon.

You ARE doing this.

It also frees you to lend wings to your creativity, breaking the imaginary shackles which prevent your evolution.
