Good morning Kitty. Still cold here this morn. Some warmer this week but lower forecast
now than was before. Shouldn't be to much work for 4" removal. We still have rain forecast
for Thursday so I will probably go south to the farm Wednesday. Last time I had to drive back
on snow covered roads.
I installed that new electrical outlet in the bathroom yesterday. Put in a GFCI, it's on the opposite
wall from sink and shower but probably the law for all outlets in the bathroom. Have been using
an extension cord on that side of the bathroom for rechargeable toothbrush and radio for ten years.
Had the cord going around the corner to the bedroom. I still have to do the dry wall patching today.
I still have to use an extension cord but just one wire going behind the clothes hamper instead of three
and doesn't go out into the hallway to the bedroom.
That's about all I did yesterday, good project for a cold day. Still waiting for the California guy for help
on my amplifier. He did get back to me, he's having trouble at work and needs to wait until he can devote
a little time to help me. I can understand his problem, I spent good part of my career at IBM and New York
Electric and Gas. People were really bad when they went to work. My wife had lots of trouble with the small
company she worked for assisted living for older people also. No use getting into all of the stuff. It's over and
we both have the week off.
We had lots of sunshine yesterday also. I see one of the solar light strings is still on this morning. Today is only
in the upper 20s but it's a start in the warmer direction.
Have good day all.
it was below zero here this morning but now up to 13...a heat wave LOL.....sunny and today I have to go out to the grocery store....brrrr.....as far as the virus? we hear a lot and don't really know what is going on.....snow covered and icy...but from inside it looks pretty....
Hi Ernie and Kitty ~
Are those your solar lights? For outside? Very pretty. Jim took down the colorful lights we had around our rod iron patio fence. I figured the neighbors may report us to the HOA, so down they came.
He did get in trouble yesterday as I took the girls (both daughters and granddaughters) to an upscale restaurant for Molly's 47th birthday brunch. He took the wreath with the tartan bow off the front door. Yikes! Why? I asked. So, up it went to finish off the snow and winter.
We have maybe the 8-10 inches on the ground. Has never melted.......I am even using pet friendly salt. I think it has been too cold to melt. Tomorrow's forecast is in the 40's. Can't wait. May meet my dog friends and dogs out at a park.
Then, guess what? Supposedly slammed with cold.....snow or ice beginning Wednesday thru Friday.
Yes, it will be very nice to go to Florida? What? The temperatures in Florida this week are barely above freezing. Oh my.
Keep on keepin on as our friend would say. The National Guard has left the Clinic so perhaps that is good news. COVID on the downward trend here in northeast Ohio.
Good morning Kitty and Susan. 5 here this morn, slightly warmer. A little warmer in the day, I think.
I saw a stable on TV where veterans could ride reduced price or free but looks like disabled veterans
now that see their website. Very expensive otherwise. I will have to wait until daughter and I get our
small horse farm going, years from now most likely.
We have colored solar lights and strings also, dragonflies, humming birds, etc. Have them around the
pool and at our pets graves. I also have them at our families graves in PA. The caretaker leaves them
there when he takes all the flowers and stuff. I replace them once a year down there and bring the older
ones back here. The strings have separate solar panels, with a 6 or 8 foot wire, I can put up in a tree or
up on the fence.
Susan, hope your vacation in Florida is good weather and hope all the oranges aren't dying, I eat them
just about every day. We have a pizza eve today with one daughter and grands. It's been a while because
she won't go out in the cold or snow to visit. Tomorrow I'm traveling down south to the farm to help. Thursday
and Friday might be ice storms.
I had to glue in pieces of dry wall around the new GFCI outlet in the bathroom so the spackling will be today, soon
will look like it was always there. I use something called patch & paint, very easy to use. Mine is 10 years old and
almost gone so gotta pick up a new one today when I'm taking care of everyone's garbage.
Hope you all have a great day, two days of good weather here.
we got up to 34 today and is really sunny....the snow isn't melting however....but that's okay Brian is doing another puzzle 1000 pieces....he goes so fast....I think I have put in 3 pieces....I don't have the patience...
Good morning Kitty. Warm 23 here this morn. We did have some snow melting off the bay window
roof. Saw it dripping. My dad had puzzles on his dining room table lots of times in the Winter. We
had kids and everything so wasn't doing puzzles. I seem to keep busy in retirement so far.
Headed down to the farm today. Drove back on snow last time, looks like clear weather this time
just before the next ice and snow storm. We're supposed to get 6 inches of snow from this one.
We have to go get my brother some diesel and get a piece of radio equipment out of a shed before
the elements claim it, besides cleaning all the cat liter boxes and the garbage my brother has left behind.
We had daughter and grands over for pizza last eve and one stayed so my wife has company while I'm
gone to the farm today. She can't stand going to the farm house, she can smell the cat urine 100 feet
from the house, only about 3 feet for me. My sense of smell not nearly what hers is. House is very
So I never got to spackling around the outlet yesterday. Glued in pieces of wall board and that's gotta be dry.
I got another little bucket of spackle and took car of everybody's garbage yesterday. Also got my 4 prescriptions.
One of those is test strips so have only 3 meds. Much less than I used to take. None for diabetes, thank goodness.
Two of those I only take every other day. I usually keep my glucose below 100 with diet and exercise. I suppose
the day will come I won't be able to exercise so hard and will have to go back on diabetes meds. It's many years
off right now I think.
Have a great day you all, quiet before the storm here.
Good morning all....36 cloudy degrees today....today is the day we go to daughters for happy hour(and take our garbage )...Lol that means that we don't need to have a garbage company....save a few bucks which is funny to me...but when we take it over we visit and have wine and cheese etc.....otherwise not much going on....hope your day is wonderful...
Hi Miss Kitty,
A tiring day and to bed at 9:30 p.m. Now, 12:30 p.m. and up, drinking a hot toddy and watching the snow. I think they have made much ado about nothing...but we will see. I just finished shoveling the patio ice and snow yesterday, the rains came and it was clear for the first time in weeks. Now, Storm #2 and supposedly 8 inches of snow and ice today. Everything has been called off ~ all schools and restaurants closing. I even heard that the Turnpike will restrict the type of vehicles until it's over. We will see.
I'm on my second knitting project ~ a hat again. It's a super bulky wool and it knit up almost too fast.
Well, stay safe. Tell Brian not to get carried away with snow shoveling....
I can't tell what is on the table with your grands? Looks like a very large cake..maybe?
The second storm of the century (lol) has arrived. Just finished shoveling the ice and snow off the patio from the other storm and now we have another. They've predicted much in two parts ~ we will see. It looks like an inch or so at 1:02 a.m.
Enjoyed some time with my friend and her Golden this week at a pavilion in a nearby park. We've been friends for probably nine years because I met her in the Pet Store. I'll forward a picture of Kayla and Finn (now both ten years of age). It was a balmy 41 degrees that day in Avon Lake.
Plan to spend a quiet day inside. Spicy chicken soup on the menu and some knitting...
Good morning Kitty and Susan. 34 here at 7:20 Thursday morning. We're still getting rain.
Ice and snow haven't arrived yet. Left the farm last eve about 5:30 PM trying to make sure
I headed east in front of the storm but roads still good here this morn. Cleaned up the garbage,
Bagged some and burned other. Cleaned all the kitty liter boxes. Got diesel and filled his backhoe
for snow removal. Cleared snow and ice away from his mailbox but more arriving next couple days
anyway. Did some other stuff.
Got home and our refrigerator control circuit board burning up. I found a new one at Amazon after
2 hours of looking this morn. Found many replacement types but wanted the exact one. Can still smell
the burned circuits in here and all our refrigerated food is out on the deck under a tarp.
I'm glad Finn is doing well at 10 years old and gets to enjoy time with the golden.
Kitty, glad you're enjoying time with your daughter. Will probably talk to my daughter this morning because
she has Amazon Prime and see if she can order my circuit board and get it quick and I can pay her if not an
Enjoy the day all.
Always enjoy showing the bedspreads my mom made back around 1981. She's gone in 87.
