Good Spring morning to Ernie, Paul, Miss Kitty ~
Spring? Here in Ohio? We have had snow flurries yesterday and today. It’s a balmy 37 degrees but with the wind chill, 27 degrees. My spring posies are shivering. I decided not to cover them…..and take a chance. Most of the perennials are decently hardy.
So, here we are April 17th. One day until dreaded tax day which I am sure all of you are aware. They’ve even cashed my check so the government is rich for one day. LOL
Not much new here. We’ve attended two funerals within a week. My dearest friend euthanized her Golden this week-end and that has been so very sad. Kayla would have been 12 in July and is Finn’s best friend for years.
So, on we go. No smoking and feeling hopeful that Spring will come to Ohio sooner than later…

Dear friends ~
Guess I am a day late and a dollar short (something that my Father would often say). Today, is Tuesday, April 18 and the calendar says that indeed it is Quarterly and 2022 Tax Return day. My apology………Susan

Yes, Susan, you forget the 17th was Patriots' Day. Taxes can't be due as long as any state has a holiday. Though not celebrated in many states anymore. I believe Miss Kitty's is one of them.
Enjoy the evening everyone.

Good morning Susan and Paul. Yesterday the dogs got me up an hour early, today I just woke up early.
35 here, certain it will drop 2 or 3 degrees before we head out. I'm sad to hear Kayla is gone. I've seen
the pictures with Finn. Think the last one was, by coincidence, by a wooden bridge. Our Cocoa lived to be
12.5 but she had Cushing Disease and Diabetes last 3 years of her life. Brandy only made it to 8.5.
Sorry you had to pay in Susan, I remember long time ago I had some years to pay in. Probably will again
when we start taking our savings out. But we didn't pay tax on it when we saved it. We are lucky we have
a pension, not nearly as much as many but many don't have one and now pensions have almost
disappeared. Maybe your check will help raise the debt ceiling.
We're getting some warm days and some cool. The cool ones would be warm Winter days. I'm still putting
a stereo in the Mont SS. Have to disassemble the donor car and remove the wiring because I want wires
that run from the radio to the speakers without any splices. One of the speakers from the donor car reads
wrong on the ohm meter so might look for a better one in the junk cars on the farm. The colors of the wires
and the connectors are the same, one is a 1985 Pontiac and one an 85 Chevy, so both GM. It's been a pain to
not have a stereo in the SS, for years I've had a boom box in the passenger seat but it's having problems.
Also sorry your friends husband died and you had another funeral. Last one we attended was the flower girl
at our wedding and I watched the dogs out on the church grounds while wife attended. The church had a huge
lawn, must have been 10-12 acres.
Hope your days in the city are going well Paul. Guess you will be very warm Friday when we hit 80 or a little higher
here. Not a good day for a marathon.

Good morning, Ernie,
Finn had an early wake up call this morning. Considering that he usually rises around 9:30 a.m., we were all up at 7:00 a.m. Today, he traveled to our Vet’s office and makes a donation of hair, blood, nails, etc. for his contribution to the Morris Animal Foundation study for canine cancer. He has been a participant for many years and will consider to do so until the end of his journey. He is one of 3000 Golden Retrievers who have done this for their lifetime. It is the hope at the end of the study they may find a correlation between many factors (environmental, food, water, carpet, linoleum. etc. with canine cancers. Golden’s are prone to this. So it will be a long day for him and no eating prior to the tests!
A lovely day here in Avon Lake although I doubt we will reach the 80’s as predicted.
Enjoy the day. Susan

Good morning, Paul,
Yes, I did not remember it was Patriot’s Day and thus tax day being delayed…… Thanks for the heads up.
I do know that the government must need my contribution as my check was cashed upon arrival.
A lovely day here, although not reaching 80’s as predicted. The spring flowers are now blooming as well as the flowering trees. I may have one too many bird feeders out……the hummingbird feeder, the finch feeder and the Baltimore Oriole feeder filled with grape jelly. We have a pair of ducks who grace our patio bird feeder each night around 6:30 p.m. Since the regular crew of birds have devoured most of the bird seed by that time, I have started taking an ample container out just for the ducks. The male is quite timid and backs up to the hill. The female will watch me place the seed on the ground and is the first to come back. We call them Henrietta and Chuck……
Enjoy the day. Soon, the week-end. Any special plans?

Good morning, Miss Kitty ~
And a beautiful day here in Ohio. The spring flowers are now blooming as well as the flowering trees. We have started our usual Spring clean up. I usually do minimal clean up in the Fall so that my perennials will be protected and perhaps drop their seeds. Anxious to see if my Sweet Annie will come back this year. Love the forget-me-nots, one of my very favorites. How is your garden growing? I know that Brian loves to work out. Enjoy the week -

Hi Susan,
A nice day here also. High 60s is what I like. It can stay like that though I know it will not.
I don't understand how the geese near me survive pecking at the ground. There doesn't seem to be much for them to eat.
No plans for the weekend. I was going to go to Valley Forge with my nephew but that was moved back a few weeks. I'll just be out and enjoying the weather.
Have a good evening, everyone.
Paul
