Hi Paul,
I have turned on the air conditioning, mostly for Finn. We have chosen a new electric and gas supplier. Bills with the other are to double $$$.
Enjoy the weekend. Finn’s dog sitter coming soon. He senses that we are leaving
Jun-4
Good morning all. Hope the trip is good Susan, and Finn enjoys his time, probably better than leaving home.
We reached around 79-80 Saturday so about 9 degrees cooler than Friday. This coming week is all cooler.
Our utility bill will go up with the pool pump running 8 hours a day and the AC running lots. Was our driest
May on record. Supposed to get showers some days this coming week but won't be much if get any at all.
I made it to the farm and funeral. Lucky I swung by the farm and checked on my brother. He thought he had
set up a ride but didn't. He had gotten his eye shots Friday and couldn't see to drive. We were both a few minutes
late but better than him not making it.
Got the mower blades sharpened, lubed the mandrel pulleys, and found a spring had come off along with belt
off a pulley. Was just barely working. Mowed the front lawn to test it, didn't need it yet but probably won't be
down there this week.
Hope Kitty does ok.
Have a good day all.

Hi Ernie,
Another picture perfect day except for no rain…maybe counting now on Day 19.
We enjoyed our trip to Bexley that takes about 2-1/2 to 3 hours one way depending on how many stops we manage along the way. The party was nice. Five girl graduates all friends of his Granddaughter decided to have a joint party for the family and friends. I’m guessing approximately two hundred guests, 2 food trucks, alcohol served, probably the expense of what a small wedding would cost each parent. Apparently the latest in this suburb is for parents to buy golf carts so that their children can drive to and from school/Starbucks or generally drive around and be seen. I just shake my head back and forth at some of this nonsense. Entitled children, to say the least. Of course, I smile and be polite. My mode of transportation as a teenager, was my bicycle. One family car that I really was not permitted to drive; Another generation….another entirely different way of growing up and now I sound “ancient”.
Enough said……..
I went to Lowe’s this a.m. and bought some fungicide for my hollyhocks. I just love them but every year I seem to have a “rust fungus. Watered the front walkway and will use sprinkling cans in their back.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Good morning Susan and all. 46 here this morn, dropping to 40 next couple mornings. Supposed to rain
couple days later this week. Driest May ever here at 0.71 inches of rain.
Glad you had a good trip. Kids having it to good is better than having it really bad I guess, like much of the
world.
Brother put a picture of the back of a credit card on facebook for some reason, before he said a girl wanted
him to put a picture of a check on there. Got everyone riled and worried as he does every few days. Post
office in a neighboring town wouldn't send a check to a girl online so he threatened suicide and got state
police and another agency up there. I guess all the postal clerks in his town already recognize him. I don't
get so worried because he's just going to keep going like a child, him and his wife have for years.
Hope your flowers survive. Wife's are so pretty around the pool and will grow and become still better.
Almost time to head out with the pups. Hope all have a good day.

Good morning, Susan, Ernie and all,
You don't want your loved ones having it bad, but you want them to appreciate having it good and to understand what work goes into the good part. But I guess that is the comments of every generation on the next one. But best to be polite and smile, Susan.
Enjoy the day,

Hi Paul,
A chilly day here in Avon Lake. I am still watering the plants each day.
Your posting has merit. My husband and I had our turn with the girls. Both are loving adults, one a teacher and one with a MSW in Social Work. We had our turn, so to speak. Yes, silence and smiling are both a good thing!

Hi Ernie,
Oh my goodness, sounds like your brother could get into a real problem with posting such things on line. Does he have children who could watch over him????
A cool day here. Must get on with my daily watering.

Hi Kitty,
How are you feeling? Tis hard to believe that COVID is still around ~ not sure what the booster protocol is now? I think we had the recommended amount. Susan

Hi Susan,
When my youngest niece complained about nonsense in HS, I'd tell her how her great-grandmother at 16 got in a boat, probably steerage, came to a country where she knew nobody, didn't speak English, was swindled out of all the money she came with, and she never complained. My niece would ask me if I knew any stories from this century.
I'd tell her brother that when his grandfather was not much older than him, he was living in a barracks, getting shot at by the nazis he was trying to bomb. He didn't find it relevant either.
So, I smile and talk baseball.
I felt some raindrops as I was headed home but I don't think we had much rain.

Good morning Susan, Paul, and all. Not sure about taking the pups out this morn, We're still under
the smoke particle alert. Could see the smoke in the air all day Tuesday. Guess I will go outside and
see how it is. We're about 500 miles from the fires.
Brother and his wife didn't have kids. She had kids in her previous marriage but they aren't around
much, some to help her. They probably did a lot for them but many years ago and people forget.
If he had someone there to care for him all the time he would probably live another decade. Neither
my sister or me want to give up our lives to take around the clock care of him. He could still get away
with some of this stuff even with total care. Would have to take his phone away from him. My daughter's
mother in law lost her money in scams. She just worked around anyone that tried to help her. Last I looked
he still had picture of his credit card on facebook. It's to blurry to read. I told him to delete it, don't know
if he did. His friend wants me to help get him into a home but he will just copy his wife. Will stop eating and
taking his meds until he dies.
My dad was in D-Day and those other well known battles in Europe in WW2. I only heard him talk about
it once in the last 2 years he was alive. Then only about the camp he waited in for D-Day. He did tell me
he walked across Europe with a duffel bag on his back. Was when I was talking about the drill sergeant
making me run around the platoon while it was running with a duffel gag. I was limping from a ankle
injury I got before I joined.
Have a great day all.
Ernie
