So I was here a year ago wondering if I could make it through cessation. So many doubts and fears loomed. On September 9, 2018 I quit and haven't looked back since. It's a hard journey and i didn't think I'd make it to a year. In 8 days the impossible will become the possible and the coveted year will be mine. Any of you joining this group can make it as well with support and having a plan in place. Best wishes for success to this new group!

Congratulations Wuffie on almost a year of freedom. I am in the same boat you were a year ago, afraid and unsure of myself. So happy to see you almost to the clubhouse. Leave the lights burning brightly on the path so I can find my way.

Hi, I will start the September group. My name is Brenda and I have been here too many times to count. But today is a new day. I saved myself the 1st of September, Yay 2 days. I was going to use the patch, but at the last moment, decided to go cold turkey. So day 2 , no nicotine, no smokes, no nothing, just me. And this is wonderful. Have no clue who I am without the smokes, but I will find out. Wishing all a great smoke free day.

Congratulations Brenda! You can do it! The only way to get thru it is to go thru it. I downloaded the smokefree app and their mission for today was to go online and search for ways to increase willpower. The one that stuck out to me the best was to "Steer clear of temptation - People who have lots of self-control don’t need to exercise their willpower as often. Therefore, when willpower is required, it is strong and in steady supply. So we can increase our willpower by not putting ourselves in situations where willpower is required – steering completely clear of those “danger spots” where temptation is present and willpower is necessary."
So, for me today, I did NOT go into my office in the back entrance (where the smokers are). I went thru the front entrance - this helped a LOT. Working on day 7...
We got this!

Thank you, Alex. I live with a smoker, but he doesn't smoke in the house. So not going outside with him to smoke. If I need to get outside, I go to the front yard and smell the wonderful air. So many smells I never knew existed.

Hello. I join the group after I lost my quit at 4 months. That happened to me twice. This time I try my best not to fall again in the trap of just one. I am one day and 6 hours smoke free. I used to smoke 2 packs a day. I couldnt breath anymore. Anyway.... I can say I already feel better even if there is just one day smoke free.
Brenda, I live with a smoker too...
And my teenage daughter asked me if I dont want to smoke a cigarette to be more calm. I said no.
One day after another. Lets do this.

Hi Michaela,
I have quit and lost quits numerous times ....so we just keep trying. I am very tired of letting myself down. Usually stress, depression or junkie thinking are my downfalls. I don't know who I am without smoking, so need to start there. I don't feel I have a lot of quits left in me, so need to do this. We will try to help each other along the way.
