Hey Peggy!
I knew you would like them! Maybe you can watch some videos of them with The Tribe, lol! Yes, they are here now. Read an Audubon update that said about 10,000 last night. The park is officially closed both because of Covid and also the smoke. PDX parks still closed due to fire hazard. The have a livestream set up for folks to watch at home but the last few nights were too smoky for the cameras even. I think the Clackamas Fire is the closest now. We are out of danger in PDX proper, but not out of smoke yet, though it is better today. It is crazy how many birds are in my yard!! Seriously. I keep looking for a cameo appearance of Hitchcock, lol! Lord...that’s all I need to see. Would put me over the edge! So we just went and got another birdbath for them too. Yes, I do feel it is an honor to help take care of these creatures. They love love love my dried flowers gone to seed the best. I probably won’t have much to clean up in a month or so! I’m very happy they are here and so is Max. He seems mesmerized just laying on the deck watching them. Wonder what he is thinking...?
Im not sure how to clean a grill! I’m definitely too lazy of a cook to cook on one! Just had a Tuna sandwich with Watercress. Yum! Gave Whoopi a little piece of Watercress and it was absolutely hilarious. She first bit it, then spit it out, then tossed it around, kept picking it up and flinging it! Was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a bit. She looked at me like I was nuts to give it to her! Wish I’d had my phone and took a video.
May e I should send her to you and let Jackson take her out to find pelts!
So I made those pickled onions. Oh my gosh. They were so good! Yes, were as in all gone all ready! Will make some more today and take them to work tomorrow. Might see if I can get some pickling cukes and do them too. Maybe some peppers? Have to bottle this batch of Jun today too and start another.
Got the first two repeats of “Nightswimming”down with hands together so am happy about that. It’s slow, but correct. I’ve not been this housebound and am getting quite stir crazy and have very itchy feet! Doesn’t take me long to walk to John and back at night and it isn’t enough to get my angst out. So I’ve been watching a bunch of stuff on YouTube. What do you and the Tribe watch on there??? I didn’t know you guys watched videos. I want a Tribe!!!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I had a tribe but I'm pretty shy in person. It's easy to be brave when you're typing. What do you watch? What kinds of books do you read? Hopefully not romance novels. Gross. Everyone at work thinks I'm crabby becayi don't like potlucks. I don't like doing them at work because people are picky and whiny. "Did you forget I'm allergic to carbs?" Or they make something gross and pressure me to try it. Then there's the thing about sitting around with everyone talking about their lives. You see, I know I tell you guys about me here, but I don't want my coworkers in on my life. They are nosy and gossipy and I don't like that. So I don't really want to sacrifice my lunch hour to sit around talking about how someone's daughter rides a unicycle. I'd rather go home and be with my husband, like I do every day. They keep planning team building events like flower arranging, coloring and sewing. Again, not giving up my lunch to chill with people I don't like. I like being left alone. At work I play music through the Bluetooth on my hearing aids and ignore the world. I just want to work and go home but it's hard because people view that as cold and uncaring. I do care about people but I'm just not into it. Yes, I'm under 40 and yes, I'm an introvert. Is that a crime? My husband is the same way. Wow, I just made myself look really crabby. Sorry ladies, the real me just came out. I'd come to a potluck with you guys, though.

Hahahaha!
Tiny...I just love you exactly as you are! Oh my gosh. I am laughing my butt off!! Oh, you e made my day. You and this little Whoopi dog getting mad at me cause I gave her Watercress.
Im with you. Very easy to be extroverted here, but in person?? Oh H no. I’m the one over in the corner, hiding behind those huge flower arrangements! Hahaha! I like being alone a lot too. And walking. And now...pickling! But potluck? Nah. I’m allergic to carbs! Lol!!!
OMG. You made my day. Thank you.
P.S. Try the pickled onions!!! Go ahead...just try one!! Lol!
P.P.S. You just gotta TRY one!
9/17/20
What?? You haven’t tried the onions yet?! What’s wrong? You don’t like onions??
I would love nothing more than to have a potluck, road trip, camp out, hike, sky diving lesson, skeet shooting outing, Kombucha tasting, snickle hunt with all you girls! Any time. Oh yes. Right after this nap.
9/17/20
What is a snickle hunt? I’m in as soon as I know what in the world a snickle hunt is!
9/17/20
Oh...I’m not exactly sure! It is something we did way back when I was a Girl Scout on camping trips. We’d all grab our flashlights when we were supposed to be asleep in our tents and sneak off on a snickle hunt. I think it is what you do when you are too young to sneak off smoke...?
9/17/20
Ok....then I will join you on this snickle hunt.......just making sure we weren’t looking for wookalars. Which are monsters! Lol
9/17/20
Ok, NO monsters! And no sneaking off for smokes either! We’d have each other to keep eyes on each other!

Ohhhh...I hear thunder.
Oh boy. Normally I love thunder here as it is very rare. Right now we don’t need what precedes it. People talk about thunder here when it happens for a few days. Nothing like the storms I grew up with. Never have seen those this side of the Cascades. Nothing like Peggy’s lovely storms.
Gonna make more pickled onions. Got some of those cute little cukes too. Mmmm.
Will go say hi to John first. Good strong John. Still there he was last night. A year plus now. Wow.

Hi Lore, waiting for septic guy. Have dug and dug and have had it looking for the 2nd pipe thingy!! Grrrrr...Just want to leave. The Aardvark guy stood my up for 2 weeks, now this kid is taking his time. Kinda irritable...Don’t know why!
Jackson spits out any lettuce so doubt if Whoopi will eat the watercress. He would be glad to show her where he found the pelts and the gladly steal it from her. I would not trust the predators out here with a dog the size of Whoopi!!! Sorry girl!,
Yes I for sure am watching the Swift videos with the tribe!!! They will freak!. That is absolutely precious about Max watching the birds on the deck. What a pleasant old soul perhaps.
Are you doing night swimming on the piano? Too cool!! The night swimming was the best last night. Got to ditch the skin cos water warmed up enough but still very cool. I am savoring these last days of swimming. You’re are just a pickling Queen!!! How nice you are bringing them to work! Keeping up the Michigan farm tradition!! My faculty always could not wait for my apple tree harvest. My secretary’s mom made this fab apple cake. Dwarf trees do well here with care.
We watch lots of stuff on YouTube and play music. We watched Jonathon Kahn a messianic rabbi...author /speaker and we have been watching a series called The Chosen....2 episodes a week. I also had to share my fave Native American band, Broken Walls with one of the girls who hadn’t seen it. Oh and we danced around. We are a left-leaning out of the box. This is my style however and grateful these gals are the same.
I hear the truck. I must be nice. Later my girls!!
Peggy
