What??! Nobody spoon feeds me in the bath! I’m telling you ladies...next life, a dog in a good home is the way to go.
Yeah, funny little bug this COVID19. All over the place. I saw an 82 year old, positive, had been having some nausea for a week. That’s it. Never even barfed, but had her family worried so came in. Called her up a week after I saw her and she was fine never got anything else. 40 year old never smoker, runner, eats great (I know cause I work with him) was in Hospital for a week. Go figure. That’s the nerve wracking thing about it and one thing that actually makes me think of smoking! Go figure on that too! Don’t worry. Not gonna. Now I got this surgery to keep me from doing it. Good news this morning is only two incisions she thinks. Now there is a way to do Ultrasound on the Median Nerve. Surgeon herself called me with the results and asked how the hell I was doing anything with my right hand as she’s gotta fix a spot called Guyon’s Canal in my wrist too. That’s the spot I’m worried about. Well, and I made her promise that she won’t Eff up my tats on my right arm near the elbow. She’s going underside so it shouldn’t. I really like this Surgeon. I asked her if she just called me herself because of professional courtesy crap and she said no she calls all her patients herself to talk about test results. That’s rare nowadays. Anyway, funny what we worry about! I got a lot of dough in these tats and I really like them. Who wants Excalibur with a scar, right?
But I am still playing my piano. She said it’s fine. Just not getting the stretch and pressure for higher notes, but am getting the spiritual and emotional release from playing so that outweighs the soreness after. Can’t wait for a couple months after! Plus, I miss my piano teacher really bad!! I don’t have to have a filter around him. He says he should pay me for teaching him the new vocabulary, haha! I agree.
Sounds like your cozy for now. You best just get it in though. Those space heaters scare me. Maybe go and sign up to foster some more dogs right now. I know Max puts out some heat! He kicks in his sleep too. Probably off chasing bunnies, lol.

So when is your surgery?
Question regarding Covid if you know......the 2 people you mentioned..... is it because of blood types? I have heard that O blood has an easier time. True? Or you haven’t really noticed.
Nov-18
Surgery is December 2nd and I’ll be totally off work through December 29th, yipppeee!!
Im pretty sure the blood type link between COVID outcomes has largely been debunked. I’ll do a literature search in our database maybe later and see if there is anything new. There is evidence that women overall fare better, so we have that on our side. Now...question for you... so they have us slotted for first vaccine rollout. Not sure I want to be in the first round?? One does look promising. Two actually do but one has more data on folks over 50. I really do wish there were a good antibody test! Especially with evidence now pointing to longer term natural immunity. Speaking of vaccines....measles killed a lot of people world wide last year. Sad thing to me about that is this: how many kids that died from that would have lived if they had a say so in whether they got vaccinated or not?
Sorry Eve...you know how my mind works. Constantly in many directions...
Don’t hang your hat on your blood type yet, but DO wear a mask, keep distance, avoid gatherings, keep grimy mitts away from face even if they are just washed!
Oh....and don’t pick your nose either
Nov-18
Hahaha! Cause there are GERMS in there! !
Thought I asked it but not very directly...would you be in first group to get COVID vaccine?
Nov-18
Answer is NOPE! Honestly I think rushed, and not enough known about long term effects. I have many other thoughts but not sure appropriate for this, nor do I want backlash
You are on the front lines, I absolutely do not see what you do. Nor do I know anyone who passed from it, some people have said they had it, but no hospital. So my thoughts are still No but I do do my part even if I think even the scientists don’t know what or how this is transmitted.

It’s definitely been a rush job. With a lot of political influence. Both of those have a role in my reluctance for sure. Treatment is better, death toll down even though numbers are up, so I kind of feel like it’s a dice roll to get it, or to get the vaccine. We may not have a choice, similar to flu shots though. That’s word on the street at work and not official. Not sure how that can be instituted “forcefully “ so to speak, and will wait to get official word on that aspect before I get my panties in a wad. Would definitely be interested in your thoughts otherwise if you want to PM them to me. I figure the more angles I have to look at something and think about it, the better really, so please do!

I will do that. Probably later tonight. Just home and the dog didn’t do ANY of her chores! Lol

Tiny,
I found this article for you. It won’t fix the pending doom you are having about the Howlidays, but it will help validate where you are, let you know you’re not alone, and put some of those disconnected thoughts many of us have about them into words. Which, for me (surprise surprise!) is helpful. I’m gonna cc Peggy who I’m sure can relate, and Nika as I know she was remarking on the season. I’m also very interested in hearing from Nika if the season takes on quite the same level of consumerism, and commercialism there as it does here. I know that may be hard to gauge as she is not here, but, Nika, I will attest to the fact that Christmas bobbles were in the store here BEFORE Halloween. One thing that struck me in their article is them speaking to the seasonality of things and how there is now such a mismatch of the commercialization of Christmas with our environment and natural surroundings. That part sucks the worst for me and definitely screams Capitalism way more than Christmas.
Hopefully we are all left with a few, or even one fond memory of of the season from when we were younger. Even if it is only what we once held as hope. I believe that holding hope as a memory keeps it alive, even if only a little.
