My favorite is the Salmon, and I make it very simple. I am also very partial to Pacific Salmon and much prefer the way it tastes more than Atlantic Salmon that I grew up on. They are actually quite different. I broil it in the oven. First I poke it with a fork, a lot! To make little holes so when I squeeze lemon on it it goes down into it. Then I grind pepper on it. If there spots that are thin, like near the tail end, I put a tiny bit of butter because that part cooks much quicker in the broiler and will burn fast. Then I put it in the oven set to Broil, with the pan not too far from the top where the broiler heat elements are. Then it about 10 minutes it is done! Very very simple. I love it so much I do not want a lot of extra things on it, or sauce or any of that. It is too good to hide the flavor with those things. I like to make asparagus to have with it too. This I get fresh and use a steamer. Just a little butter and salt when it is done. Usually I have a salad too. Sometimes I will make couscous with it, but not always. I try not to eat that many starchy things. I like things like bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, etc but I do not want all of those kind of carbohydrates very often. My diet is mostly fruit, vegetables, protein like cheese, eggs, milk. I eat beans too. I will eat oatmeal sometimes with turmeric and ginger. That is very good! Sometimes cold cereal. I make soups and will eat that for a few days until it is gone too. I really don’t like to cook much Joe. But I told Tiny about a grilled peanut butter and jam sandwich that I make and put jalapeños on it. It is very good! You can put bacon on it if you want too, but I don’t eat bacon anymore really. You could try this as it is easy! And you only have to clean one pan! That is the best part!
Now I’m going to walk. It is warm here now for some reason and not raining. So a perfect night.
Hope you get some rest! It messes up your sleep to work two night shifts and then be off, right?

Good morning Lorie,is it time for you to rise and shine yet?You are a healthy eater indeed.your method of preparation of salmon is very wise.its a good practice to apply butter on areas where it could possibly get burned easily.Applying butter could make it more juicy and well cooked.good job Lorie.you are brave.
Have you ever watched Gorden Ramseys show?it really makes me laugh. He is so particular when it comes to cooking. So,what are your plans today?i hope you are having a good time Lorie.Oatmeal seem to be a delicious and healthy meal.i ate with bananas as seasoning and a bit of peanut butter.i eat small meals through out the day.

Hi Joe
I have had stressful day and will write more about later. There have been several times I wanted to smoke, but don’t worry! I didn’t! I don’t want to let you and my friends here down, but deep down I also know I don’t need a smoke.
I hope you are ok. It has been too busy today to plan any cooking or go to the store so we are getting Thai Food to bring home! Do you like Thai Food Joe? I know if you do you like it spicy, right?
More soon my friend.

Hi Lorie
As you pass through all these stressful days without the need for a smoke, you are getting more stronger and wiser in this battle.I havent tried Thai food yet Lorie, but i heard they are very tasty. They dont add much spices or sauce so you can enjoy the original taste.i hope you like it that way right?i remember the way you make Salmon.it must be very tasty and we could enjoy the real taste, without much spices.Keep fighting Lorie, the stress is not powerful than your determination of not to smoke.i am proud of you.
